Week of June 3 - 8
Superintendent Information
Dear Jaguar Friends & Families,
Big week here at Easton School with the Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2024 on Saturday June 8th at 11 am. The ceremony will be held in the multipurpose room and new this year is our ASB has planned a reception/BBQ/potluck directly after the ceremony outside near the elementary playground area.
To make the week even more exciting, ASB and Jag Leadership has planned a Spirit Week with daily dress up days(see below). I love this time of year as it is such a exciting time for our students and families.
Also please be sure to add Monday, June 10 for Easton School Awards Assembly held in the multipurpose room. Elementary Awards (K-5) will be at 9:00 am and Secondary Awards(6-12) at 1:00 pm. As you enter the school to attend the awards assemblies, in the hall ways we will have student projects on display from the various grade levels for parents to see. We are very proud of the work that our Jags have done throughout the school year. Unfortunately, I will not be there on Monday to celebrate with the students as my own daughter is graduating that same evening in Bellingham but I will be there in spirit.
These next few weeks are always a whirlwind, so hang on and enjoy the ride.
Have a great week and Go Jags!

Cell Phone Policy Changes
The issues surrounding cell phone use at Easton School has increased this past school year. In the past, we have allowed students to bring them into the classroom, use during passing periods and lunch, and at times have allowed their use in the classroom. However, the research is very clear. The use of personal cell phones in the classroom decreases student performance and the use of social media has a very negative impact on mental health with increased issues of bullying and harassment. Easton School is reviewing our current cell phone practices and the policies of other school districts in the State to perhaps develop a new plan. Before making a change to more rigorous policy, we would like to do an informal poll of our parents.
Would you support a more rigid cell phone policy at Easton?

Huge Easton Thank you to The Pass!
In recognition of our school's focus on the outdoors, The Pass at Snoqualmie Summit recently donated $15,000 to our Outdoor Education, Snow Sports and ASB to help us continue to offer these opportunities to our student.
Thank you again for the incredible donation and you have the Easton Mojo!

Athletics for 2024-25
We know that making a commitment for athletic for next years seems way off in the future.
However, with a school our size every student's decision makes an impact. Mr. Hickman is requesting parents and guardians to please be talking to your students about their commitment to playing next year as he needs to order uniforms, determine schedules, hire coaches, etc.
Currently, Mr. Hickman is gathering numbers for next year's sports: HS volleyball, HS basketball, HS football, HS track, JH basketball and JH volleyball. He is also looking at the possibility for JH Track and JH Wrestling, but we need student participation numbers to make that happen.
School Supply Drive
Jerrol's in Ellensburg is organizing its 3rd annual School Supply Drive for any Kittitas County student in need. Last year, Jerrol's provided supplies to 250 students. This year they hope to exceed 500 students.
Students and their families can go to Student.Jerrols.com to register for their supplies and list what they need. The school supplies will be customized to the student’s request. Jerrol's will then contact the students and their families for supply pick up.
A huge Easton "Thank You" goes to Jerrol's for making this happen for student's in Kittitas County!
