Not all families were required to come to our spring PIT conferences. For those that did, thank you. It was a great time for us to reconnect about your child's education and our plans for the remainder of the year. If you want to meet with your child's teacher and didn't have the opportunity, please reach out to them or the school administration.

Our 3rd grade scholars will take their IREAD assessment next week. They are prepared for their assessment on Monday, March 4th. Please help us in having students prepared to do their very best. During this week it is essential that scholars get plenty of sleep, eat breakfast, and arrive on time. For more information on IREAD, please contact your child's teacher.

All sixth graders have received a JRPLA registration form to complete with their parent. This must be completed and returned in order for them to attend the upcoming tour to the middle school on Friday March 8th. Mark you calendars for March 18, 19, and 20 for JRPLA's Enrollment Fun Fair. This will be an opportunity for parents to learn more about the school as well. Registration is currently open to Phalen scholars but will soon open to the public. Reserve your child's spot at the premiere middle school on the far east side today!

James and Rosemary Phalen Leadership Academy (JRPLA), Indy's premier middle school/high school, will be hosting an Enrollment Fun Fair beginning Monday, March 18 through Wednesday, March 20. This is an opportunity for you to learn more about the opportunities for you child's education as they transition to middle school.

CAFE has opened their after school program to the public. Parents can go to CAFE (located at 8902 E 38th St) Monday-Thursday around 3:30pm to sign up. Parents will retrieve an application from Mrs. Ashley or Miss Bree. Parents will need to come prepared with their ID and a copy of their student's most recent grades.

Please be aware that as winter approaches we are at risk for severe weather. In the case that school must be delayed or canceled, you can expect the following:

1.) All of the major Indianapolis news stations will be notified to broadcast the cancelation or delay.

2.) You will receive an email and phone call from the school notifying you of the cancelation or delay.

3.) Scholars will be provided with work prior to or after the event to complete for an e-learning day.

PLA@93 is enrolled in the Box Tops for Education program to raise money for our school! Box tops has done away with the traditional box tops clips, but now they have an app where you can scan your receipt and earn points instantly. Box Tops are worth $.10 each and they add up fast! Twice a year, our school receives a check to help pay for whatever we need - equipment, supplies or experiences the kids love! This is a very easy way to earn money for the school. All you have to do is shop, scan, and earn points!

Here's how it works:

1. Buy Box Tops products and scan your receipt with the Box Tops app within 14 days of purchase.
2. After scanning your receipt, make sure Phalen Leadership Academies School 93 is your selected school in the app.
3. Tap on Give Credit to select your child's classroom. You can scroll down to add a note with your child's name or additional information on who should get credit.
4. The number of Box Tops earned with your receipt will be credited to the classroom you selected.
5. To see where your child's classroom stands on our leaderboard, open the Box Tops app, tap on the school card on the Home screen and check out Fall Leaderboard on the school dashboard.

Want to give credit for a digital or email receipt? Go into the Box Tops app, tap on the My Earnings button at the top of the screen and tap on the transaction you'd like to credit. Scroll past the list of products and tap on Give Credit at the bottom of the screen. Then, select your child's classroom.
