Term I Ends TODAY
Report cards will be available on ASPEN on Thursday, November 10th at 3pm. Opportunities to sign up for parent-teacher conferences will also take place at this time. Information will be forthcoming.
Late buses are available M-Th should your child want to coordinate staying after with a teacher for extra help. This has been in place since September. Below are the bus stops for both North and South bus. With your home address in mind, please identify whether your child is a "South" or "North" bus rider so that he/she knows which bus to take. These are not the normal bus routes your child takes in the morning and afternoon to get to and from school, so your child needs to know how to walk home from the late bus stop.

THANK YOU to our guest speaker Varsha Bajaj
Varsha Bajaj has published seven books, one of which was a New York Times best seller. We are always excited to offer these opportunities to our students. We thank teacher Sarah Alberico for her help coordinating this great event. Also, a huge thank you to our PTO who helps to fund this type of enrichment.
MEET THE AUTHOR LUNCHEON
A special luncheon with the author was held for those students who met the challenge of reading all four summer reading selections. Congratulations on your opportunity to more closely meet the author Varsha Bajaj and participate in a book signing!
Child Absent?
Due to our notification system changeover, we had a few technical glitches so we were unable to send attendance messages out automatically. All the issues are now resolved, so as of Monday our automatic system notification will begin again. You will receive a phone and email notification if your child is marked absent. This message is automatically generated so do not worry if you have called in your child absent and receive the message. You only need to contact us if you receive the message and you feel there has been an error in the homeroom attendance and your child is present at school. Thank you for your patience with our new program.
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS

Veteran's Day Assembly is Tuesday 11/9 & Homework Free Weekend
Once again, in honor of Veterans Day, the Marshfield Public Schools will be Homework Free across the district on Veterans Day and over the Veterans Day weekend.
We started this tradition seven years ago and going “homework free” in conjunction with Veterans Day has been greatly appreciated by students and staff, our families, and most importantly, our Veterans. The district continues to focus attention on the social-emotional well-being of our students and staff, and by adjusting their homework schedule for Veterans Day so that nothing is assigned (for Veterans Day, over that weekend or due on Monday the 14th) students can use this time to attend the town parade. Annually, the issue of homework is one that has generated a lot of discussion across the region and it has been reported to teachers and administrators that schedules and stress levels continue to grow as the year progresses. We hope that these homework free nights can help relieve some of that stress.

Cafeteria Balances and Lunch Cost
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts extended free school meals for all students through the 2022-2023 school year. This means that breakfast and lunch will continue to be served at no cost to all students. Students still scan through a checkout to obtain a lunch.
Ala carte items and second lunches are extra. Students will need to pay, or have money on their account, to purchase these items.
Getting a 2nd Lunch - $3.00
Ice Cream - $1.25 (we limit one purchase per student)
Milk - .75 cents
Water - $1.00
WAYS TO PAY for additional items and second lunches:
Preferred method of payment:
Online: www.myschoolbucks.com---create an account and add money to that account:
After you log in or register (if new) then you can use your child’s birthday for the ID Number to add your child’s account.
You can also send in a check payable to:
Town of Marshfield
(child’s First/Last name in Memo)
You can also send in cash – please put in an envelope
marked Lunch Money with your child’s name on it. This should be handed to the cafeteria employee while in line for lunch.
As always, we are grateful for the opportunity to provide nourishing and healthy meals to all Marshfield Public Schools students. Reach out to Nancy Tellier with any questions or concerns (ntellier@mpsd.org).

BUS TRANSPORTATION & SAFETY
Please know that each student is assigned to a bus for the purposes of transportation to and from school. Some of our students walk, some of our students obtain a parent ride, but most of our students take one of 16 busses that come to and from our school each day.
Please know that we cannot accommodate requests to ride different busses. Students can only ride a bus to which they are assigned. Bus seats are reserved for students who are coming to and from school only. Our busses do not function as public transportation or Gatra. We need to make sure every child who is assigned to bus transportation has bus transportation. Thank you for your understanding.
Additionally, any student who is going to be picked up during the school day, and dismissed from school, must be listed in the child's emergency contacts. We do not release children to people who are not already identified in ASPEN as emergency contacts. If you wish to have your child be released to another adult, a note must be received at the front office in writing. The person will also be required to show a driver's license.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep your child safe.
