March is National Reading Month, so grab your book and join us at East Leroy for the fun! Read below for all of the activities and encourage your child to participate. Set aside time each day for family reading and promote individual reading. Our classrooms will be doing more reading, too!
Kick Off: Monday, March 3, students will gather in the gym to learn about all of the events happening, how to participate, and will receive a chain with their first reading tag.
Weekly Prizes: Record minutes read and confirm with parent’s initials on your calendar every week. Meet the reading goal and turn in your reading calendar each Friday (The last week it is due Thursday due to Spring Break) to get another reading tag for your chain and to pick from the prize box. You can begin recording minutes on Friday, February 28th.
Free Books! Meet your reading goal and each week you will earn entry into a free book drawing for your class!
Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary: Read 8 books on alligators, reptiles or bugs in the month of March and receive a free ticket to visit the sanctuary. Use the log sheet and turn it into the office when completed.
Special Days:
March 7: Reading Under the Stars - students will each get a finger flashlight and we will read with lights out!
March 14: Don’t Feed the Animals! - students can bring a stuffed animal to read to and will get a bag of animal crackers to munch on!

Camp Read-A-Lot Finale: With help from the National Guard, our gym will be filled with a GIANT inflatable structure to play in! As an additional reward, students who have collected the most reading tags will have earned the privilege to be first in line for this amazing play time!

March Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Thank you to all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore program! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed. If your family has not participated, there's still time!
This safe and easy program is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.
Please help now. It really will make a difference. Click the button below to show our valued teachers your support.
P.S. Family participation is the key to our success, and we are counting on you!
