MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good evening,
This past week was a full week with "everything, everywhere, all at once." Before I get to that, I must confess. Yesterday, I sat with a friend, sharing my worries and stressors at work and home. Then, in an instant, I was overcome with gratitude.
I looked around and saw my children happy and safe. I glanced down and realized I had my health and mobility. Then, I took a deep breath in and realized I had what I needed in my life. So, this letter is going to be all the gratitude I want to share in list form:
Teachers show up and love kids and educate them daily.
The Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament where I got to host the finals. Mr. Pickering is the 2024 R-P-S champion!
The soccer team invited me in for their pregame circle! The win against Crabapple Middle was great, too!
Coach Sneed and Coach O'Connor are working with our volleyball athletes this week. The excitement on their faces when they made the team.
Two parents working hard to get grants to improve our building in BIG ways!
Having district staff in the building praising our staff for our wonderful data and superb teaching in the classroom.
North Point Community Church brought a gift bag in for every staff member, AND donated $18,000 for us to build a community classroom to be a hub for our families.
Celebrating the Legacy Luncheon for Elkins Pointe Teacher of the Year, Mr. Billups and Professional of the Year, Mrs. Sabrina Jackson.
PTSA's fantastic fundraiser selling Boston butts, which was a profitable return for the PTSA!
A sweet surprise on my desk of a bag of gummy bears from a parent to say "thank you" that brought me to tears.
I do have one favor to ask:
I would be very grateful for all parents to complete the PTSA Survey of Excellence:
- In English: https://bit.ly/3XnRfT4
- En español: https://bit.ly/3ZhHOXQ
This is a great way for us to showcase our school and will also open the door for more grants to continue to improve. Please take a moment to share your thoughts. With all of the beautiful things, I am reminded of how lucky I am to be a part of this wonderful community.
I wholeheartedly thankful for all that you do!
