Wilson Focus Facts 2023-24
December-January Lion Pride News for our FOCUS Families!
Dear Wilson Focus Families and Friends,
We are on the road to finishing 2023 strong! Everyone is working so hard. Our MAP scores show that students are showing GROWTH and that is the goal of our LEARNING ADVENTURE! Well done!
Report cards will be sent home on Thursday, December 21st. Please motivate and cheer your student on as they complete work on time and to the best of their ability to reflect favorably on their report card.
Please encourage attendance everyday! Remember that your child's goal, with help from their family, should be to miss less than 9 days of school for the year. Students are receiving recognition each week they have perfect attendance.
We wish all of our families the joys of the season and above all, the gifts of family, friends, and shared time and love!
Feel free to reach out to me at any time, Luann.jacobs@ops.org or (531) 299-2260.
Mrs. Jacobs

MAP & NSCAS REPORTS
Students will be taking their MAP Winter assessments prior to winter break. Parents/Guardians received MAP/NSCAS student reports and information from their child’s classroom teacher at conferences in October.
Data is in and students are GROWING on their learning adventure at Wilson. We are so proud of the journey we are on together to GROW students academically and as leaders.

PICTURE RETAKE DAY
Arrival: It is important to not arrive until after 7:35 a.m. If you are here before 7:35a.m. please keep your child in the car or stand outside with them to supervise.
Pick Up: If you are picking up your child after school please remember to be here by 3:30 and 4:30 on Enrichment days.
Tardy and Early Release: Unless for a medical appointment, students who come late or are picked up early, the time is counted as unexcused and adds to their total absences. When a student comes into the classroom late or leaves early it interrupts not only their learning but the learning of the entire class.
Buses: If your child normally rides the bus home and you want to pick them up at 3:30 pm or 4:30 pm on Enrichment days, it is critical that you call the office by 3:00 p.m. for us to make the switch from bus to parent pick up. Students will be placed on the bus unless we have a parent phone call. This is for the safety of your child.
Attendance: It is important for students to show up each day on time for their school journey and so we can work together to GROW your child's academic knowledge. It is parent responsibility to contact the school to report absences by calling (531) 299-2260. It is important that we verify the safety of your child by knowing they will not be at school. Provide doctors notes for excused absences.
