Staff Appreciation Week
During the week of May 6-10, Mounds View Public Schools will recognize all staff during Staff Appreciation Week. Each day during that week, you'll see an employee group spotlighted on our social media pages. Thank you to our amazing staff!
Send a Thank You e-card to a deserving staff member
Last year, more than 3,000 customized thank you notes were sent to deserving staff members from colleagues, parents, students and community members during Staff Appreciation Week. Visit mvpschools.org/thankyou to create your own personalized thank you note.
District teacher named Teacher of the Year finalist
Michelle Morse-Wendt, fourth-grade teacher at Turtle Lake Elementary School, has been named a finalist for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year award. She was selected as one of 11 finalists from an initial group of 159 candidates. The winner will be named on May 5 at a banquet in St. Paul.
Top 10 high school
U.S. News & World Report has ranked Mounds View High School as the eighth best high school in Minnesota on their annual list of best high schools. Additionally, Mounds View ranked in the top 5% of schools nationwide.
AP Honor Roll
Irondale High School was recently named to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll. At Irondale, 46% of seniors took at least one AP exam, 30% of seniors scored a three or higher on at least one exam and 13% of seniors took five or more AP exams.
Say Yes! to School Meals photo contest
Sunnyside Elementary nutrition services staff were awarded Honorable Mention in the Minnesota Department of Education's Say Yes! to School Meals Photo Contest last month. They submitted a strawberry fruit and yogurt parfait with granola, showing that we are serving unique, healthy and delicious meals in our district every day.
Summer funds for groceries
Beginning this summer, the state of Minnesota will provide grocery benefits to help families with eligible school-age children buy groceries during the summer. Learn more about this new Summer EBT program.
Watch Chalkboard Capers
Chalkboard Capers is an annual musical variety show written, produced and performed by members of the Mounds View Education Association (MVEA). Through this program, MVEA is able to grant scholarships to graduating seniors from Irondale High School, Mounds View High School, REACH Academy, Area Learning Center and Adult Basic Education.
