LOST AND FOUND! Please check the lost and found cart in the cafeteria. There are lots of items on there, including jackets and sweatshirts. We would love to have it cleared off as much as possible before we have to clear the racks. We will send out a reminder before we donate leftover items.

Please read the attached flyer sent by the city regarding construction that will be occurring from 9/16-10/25. For safety purposes, there may be limited access to the road due to fresh oil, hot mix asphalt and/or open trenches. Central Valley Engineering & Asphalt, Inc. will have traffic control personnel onsite. Please note that any vehicles parked within the posted areas on the days of construction will be towed. The September FACE Forum Newsletter is available. Inside this month's newsletter, you'll find information about family and staff workshops, upcoming events, exciting announcements, community resources, and helpful ideas on ways to continue welcoming, engaging and supporting your students, families and colleagues this school year. You can also find internal resources on the FACE team’s intranet page.

The team is getting ready to launch an exciting new addition to the FACE Mobile’s visits—regional Community Care Hubs. Staff and families can visit sanjuan.edu/facemobile to see where the FACE Mobile is heading next and you can request your own FACE Mobile visit or other FACE outreach support.

FACE's upcoming learning opportunities for families begin this month and include topics on starting a successful school year together, our popular series workshops Parent Project and Talleres Familiares, and district college week. Learn more at sanjuan.edu/familyed.

Upcoming after school learning opportunities for staff also begin this month and include workshops on kickstarting a successful year of family engagement and building relational trust with students and families. All of FACE’s professional development offerings are now available for registration in the PL system and are open to all certificated and classified staff members in our district. You can register directly on the FACE course page in the PL Tile (click “FACE” in the "Subjects" section on the homepage).

• Special Education Community Social on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 4-6 p.m. at Arden Middle School

• Families Matter Conference “Nurturing Growth, Cultivating Community” on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Arden Middle School

Safety is our number one priority, especially in the morning! Please review our Drop-Off Procedures:

• Do not park your car or leave your vehicle unattended in the Fire Lane!

• If you would like to park your car and walk your student into school, please park in the designated parking spots. To avoid disrupting the flow of traffic, please do not park your car in the driveway. Reference the map for the driveway that designates the drop off/pick up area.

• School ends at 2:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

• Thursdays, school ends at 12:45.

• To address safety and the business of the end of the day, we will not call students out for early dismissals after 2:00 (12:35 on Thursdays).

• We still have students who are being picked up more than 30 minutes after dismissal. Students who are frequently picked up 30 minutes or more after dismissal will be referred to Safe Schools.
