READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK
Gwin Oaks will celebrate Read Across America Week from March 3 to March 7. Each day, students are encouraged to dress up and participate. On Monday, wear red, white, and blue. On Tuesday, wear a shirt with a place on it. On Wednesday, wear matching outfits. On Thursday, wear western clothing. On Friday, dress up as a book character. Make sure your child brings the book to school with them.
We will also have a daily contest for you and your family to figure out which state a book is set in. Clues will be sent daily from March 3- March 7 work together as a family to figure out state. Fill out the answer on the map your child will bring home next week. Return the completed map with your child on Monday, March 10. Three winners will be drawn from the correct answers and will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Buy One Get One Free Book Fair in April.
CAR RIDER
Morning Car Rider Reminder
Each morning - car rider drop-off begins at 7:30am. We request you enter the car rider line no earlier than 7:30 am and no later than 8:05 am. This is the time frame during which the line will be moving for arrival and ensures that your child will not be tardy for school.
Each afternoon - please remember to have your car rider tag displayed every day during pickup. It should be visible in your window from the time you turn onto Gwin Oaks Drive until your child is safely in the car. This number helps our staff on Gwin Oaks Drive collect numbers efficiently and the staff at the pick up location need the numbers to make sure they have students ready to enter the car.
