A Note from Ms. Looman
💕🥰A huge thank you to our amazing PTO who spoiled our staff all week with gifts and gestures of appreciation during Staff Appreciation Week! We are so grateful for your hard work and your partnership on behalf of our school!
A reminder that Heath's town meeting is Saturday, May 10th beginning 9:00 am, at Jacobs Road Municipal Center Gymnasium. To see more detailed information about warrant articles, please check https://townofheath.org/n/9198/ANNUAL-TOWN-MEETING.
If you have or know of a child that is planning on enrolling in our preschool or kindergarten programs next year, please make sure all registration paperwork is back to us by Thursday, May 15th. This will guide our scheduling and planning process, so it's critical that we have solid numbers by then.
On Monday, June 16th, we will be holding our 6th grade graduation ceremony beginning at 4:30pm. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outside on the blacktop. We will have the opportunity to celebrate our students' achievements, enjoy some light refreshments by the PTO, and then wish them all the best as they venture on to middle school.
Please mark your calendars...our after school program will close for the year at 5:30 on Friday, June 13. There will be no after school care available on Monday, June 16th, the last day of school.
Through the Eyes of the Sun or the Moon by MTRSD-HRSD Grade 1 Students
The Mohawk Trail and Hawlemont Regional School Districts are THRILLED to announce a partnership with the Salmon Falls Gallery! We will exhibit students' work in the gallery's downstairs space: the vestibule of The Blue Rock Restaurant and Bar throughout the school year. Additionally, the gallery will continue to collaborate with our amazing Arts team to curate a Spring show - in March and April - in the upstairs space. We are so very thankful to Summer Litchfield, Gallery Manager, and Josh Simpson, artist-owner, for supporting the artist-scholars of our community! Among the many strengths of our Districts is the value we place on the arts - for the benefits to learning and more importantly, to the development of self. The privilege to exhibit in a professional space provides students with the motivation to persist in the challenge to creatively express their understandings and facilitates the development of their confidence in their unique voice in the world. Summer's invaluable enthusiasm and expertise - combined with the efforts of our dedicated teachers - energizes our goal to educate the whole child. We invite you all to view the integration of the arts in our ELA curriculum beginning with our inaugural exhibition: Through the Eyes of the Sun or the Moon by our Grade 1 Students
Please see our Exhibition Statement here.
While you are there, please check out the amazing works on display - and for sale - at the Salmon Falls Gallery. 1 Ashfield Street, Shelburne Falls, MA 01370
Gallery Hours: EVERY DAY from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You also can see the exhibition during The Blue Rock's hours: Thursday through Monday, 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Student Art Show and Family Literacy Night
This year, we are hosting our combined Student Art Show and Family Reading Night on Thursday, May 22, from 5:00-6:30. Come tour our hallways to see the amazing art Colrain students have produced this year. At 5:30, we will start the Family Reading Night portion of the evening.
Family Reading Night starts with cozy re-alouds from guest readers, then refreshments with pizza and a FREE book swap for all ages! There will also be a 50-50 Raffle to raise money for supplies for the CCS Library. $2 for one ticket, or $5 for 3 tickets. Half the money raised goes to the library and half will go to the winner.
So mark your calendars for an evening celebrating our students' creativity and the joys of reading. This is a favorite event for many of our families. We hope to see you!
We are currently accepting donations of gently used books for children AND adults.
