MSBOA Marching Band Results
Congratulations to the 172-member Fraser High School “Rambler” marching band on its First Division rating in Class A competition in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District 16 Marching Band Festival on Wednesday, October 9, held at L’Anse Creuse North High School.
This is the TWENTY-THIRD consecutive year that the Fraser marching band has participated in marching band festival and earned a FIRST DIVISION rating. Marching Band Festival is a week-long event across the state of Michigan, and a total of 36 bands from District 16 (which covers bands from all of Macomb and St. Clair Counties, and parts of Oakland county) participated. This adds up to over 3200 STUDENT MUSICIANS taking the field in competition.
Three judges adjudicate the bands in the categories of music, marching, and general effect showmanship. Ratings range from First Division, which is a superior rating, equivalent to the grade of an “A”, to a Fifth Division. Our “Ramblers” earned an overall FIRST DIVISION rating with 8 A’s and 4 B’s in the categories of Music, Marching, and General Effect / Showmanship.
Open Campus Information
Open Campus - Starts 10.7.2024
Hello Parents/Guardians of Juniors and Seniors,
As you are aware, Fraser High School offers open-campus privileges for qualifying students during SMART hour. We will be opening this privilege up to seniors and juniors on Monday, October 7th. The criteria and protocols for students regarding open-campus are listed below:
• Students MUST have an 80% (or earning credit in a CR/NC class) in all classes.
• Students must not have more than 3 tardy/UNV in the previous week.
• Students MUST have their student ID.
• Students cannot leave if they have been denied by an administrator for discipline reasons.
• If students decide to not leave they must stay in their class and operate under normal school policies.
• Students may only exit from the Main Office or the Klein doors. Failure to do so will be considered skipping.
• Students’ parents/guardians must fill out the parent consent form to give permission. If parents/guardians have filled this out previously, then there is no need to fill it out again.
Here is the link to the form: http://bit.ly/fhsopencampus
• This privilege can be revoked for any reason by parent/guardian, teacher, or administrator.
• Parents/guardians will be notified via email when their child enters and exits the building.
**Also, students must check in with their SMART and show their grades to their SMART teacher before leaving. Students may scan out at 1:03 pm. The only exception is if a student has a 7th Block Hybrid online learning day. Students are responsible for any SMART assignments (Xello, scheduling, etc.)
If you have questions regarding this process please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
Ryan D. Sines, Ed.S.
PSAT
PSAT/NMSQT Test October 22nd for all Juniors
Tuesday, October 22nd all 11th graders will be taking the PSAT – National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test during 1st and 2nd block. All other grades will follow their normal schedule.
This test is good practice and predictor of a student’s SAT score. It will help identify what areas could still use improvement before the SAT college entrance exam in April. Juniors are to report directly to their testing rooms that morning. Students will be emailed where to report. All PSAT/SAT exams will be digital and done on their school issued MacBook. Please ensure your child has their computer charged.
For more information about the test please visit https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt
PSAT 8 Results
9th graders will receive a paper copy of their PSAT 8 scores from testing last spring in their English classes starting Monday, October 7th. Please review results with your student to see areas of strength and areas that could use improvement.
Online score reports are always available on www.collegeboard.org using the students login information
Online score reports do more than show which skills to work on. They also connect students to:
- Free, personalized SAT study on Khan Academy® based on your test results
- AP Potential™ feedback
FHS Athletic Events
FHS Athletic Events
Dear Fraser Families,
With an effort to make this an enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators, we are implementing new guidelines for the remaining home varsity football games.
- FHS Students must scan into the football games with their student ID and must meet attendance requirements (3 or less tardies in a week) to enter the game at no charge. If a student scans red they must pay $5 to enter.
- FPS Elementary and Middle School students must be chaperoned by a parent or guardian to enter the stadium.
- Middle School students should have their student ID with them at the ticket booth.
- Students may not bring in outside food or drinks into the stadium.
- Students may not bring backpacks into the stadium.
- No outside balls or noise makers that are not pre-approved by administration
- Students are expected to sit in the bleachers and not walk around the Stadium or gather in common areas
- Students are not to sit or walk to Visiting Bleachers
- No standing on the fence line of bleachers to avoid obstructing view and exits
- In the event that a student is asked to leave the football game, the parent or the guardian will be asked to take that student home.
- Once students leave the stadium gates, they will not be permitted to re-enter.
As always, the safety of our staff, students and families remains our top priority. These additional measures will support our students in making good choices and create a safe environment for all to enjoy the event.
We encourage our families to take advantage of these athletic events. We can come together with our school community and reconnect with family and friends. Fraser is a special place and our athletic events allow our community to celebrate the rich history and tradition of our schools. These updated safety and support guidelines will be used for all Fraser High School athletic events moving forward.
With Fraser Pride,
Ryan D. Sines, Ed.S.

Transportation
Student Drop Off
As we look forward to another school year, please take a moment to review the process that we have in place for traffic flow in our parking lots, so that everyone can enter and exit as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- If you live in our bussing area, please have your child take the bus.
- If you need to drop your student off, please try to do so before 7:10. There is very little waiting at that time.
- Please use the Klein road parking lot for drop off. This parking lot is usually much less congested.
- If you use the Garfield parking lot, please pull to the curb to drop your child off, and then proceed down past the main entrance before turning left to get in line to exit. Please do not use the parking lanes before the main entrance to enter the exit line.
I know that waiting in line can be frustrating, but if we all work together and follow the above expectations, the process should be better for everyone.
Thank you for your help and support.
Ryan D. Sines, Ed.S.
