Principal's Message
Hello Pride,
I want to start with a very special thank you to all of our veterans. Your service to this nation is valued and you have my gratitude. I also want to congratulate any of you who have family members who are or have served this country, it is on the backs of families like yours that this nation stands tall and mighty.
A quick thanks to all of our fall sports, their coaches and athletes for the hard work and time they put into their seasons. Sometimes we don't find our wins on a scoreboard, but I know that the student athletes who stuck it out are better for it, and will do great things. Best of luck to all of our winter teams who have started practice, we look forward to watching you play.
Best of luck to the band in the state championships next weekend, and to the dance students who have their concert next week. Please come support all of our students.
Very Proud to tell you that our school received a "Highly Performing" ranking from the Arizona Department of Education. We have shown tremendous growth over the last couple of years. I want to be sure and publicly thank the staff and students for all of their hard work. We are going to continue to push because we still have room to grow.
Thanks again and I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Campus Safety
For many of you this message will not be something that applies to your student, however I am asking that you read it and speak with your student about it. Please understand that we have begun to crack down on students not wearing ID badges on campus. A first referral will be a detention before or after school, any further offenses will add additional consequences. Refusal to wear a badge is considered defiance of authority and may lead to students being suspended. The direction from the School Board is that all students must wear their badge on campus. Students who arrive without badges are not being allowed to enter campus without going around to the bookstore to get one. Students will be given a Sticker the first time they are without a badge, those cost a dollar. If they are repeat offenders they will have to buy a new ID Card for five dollars, and if they do not have a lanyard will be required to buy one of those as well, they are $3. If students do not have money, it is added to their account that will need to be paid before they can walk at their graduation.
We are also having an issue with students letting other students and visitors onto campus through our hallway exit doors. As you know this is extremely unsafe. All late students and visitors must enter through the front administration doors. Students who are late or allow others onto campus will also be receiving referrals and consequences.
Thank you for helping us keep our campus as safe as possible. Again, please talk about this with your students.

ECAP Progression
Outside of the 22 credits that are need to graduate, there are a few extension requirements that must be met in order to receive an Arizona High School Diploma. One of the requirements is passing the Civics exam. Students are first given the opportunity to pass their 8th grade year, prior to entering high school. Those that do not pass are given an opportunity each year until the exam is passed.
Another extension requirement is the ECAP (Education and Career Action Plan). Starting their Freshman year, students begin the process of building the Action Plan, and finalize that Action Plan their Senior Year. To see what the Education and Career Action Plan looks like, please visit the link below and navigate to your student's "Google Classroom." Our Counseling team will and have been going into your students class, facilitating this process.
