K-8 students will be coming home with SuperFriend window decals today! Add them to your vehicle and show the community that we are SuperFriends at Highland Catholic.

"Secret SuperFriend Spotters" in the community will spot cars with the stickers around town and give Mrs. Schmidt the license plate number so that the family with that car wins free jeans passes!

Invitations for Grandparents' Mass will be mailed out next week! Please submit your student's grandparent/special person's mailing information HERE.

We will be hosting our annual Grandparents’ Mass on May 10th at 1:00 p.m. Grandparents will be invited to spend time with their grandchild(ren) in grades K - 8 celebrating their faith. If grandparents are unable to attend, students may choose to invite another special person in their life. All Highland Catholic students will be attending as this is the monthly All-School Mass.

Belonging is identified as a basic human need in Maslow’s pyramid. Human beings are

happier and healthier when they feel they belong, and when that belonging lacks, it

affects their self-concept and ability to experience fulfillment.

Join our April 17 Living Room Conversation on Belonging where you can explore with

groups of 4 to 6 people where and how you feel a sense of belonging and what kind of

impact that has. Pick the session that best fits your schedule: 8:30 to 10 a.m. OR 6:30 to

8 p.m. in the Lumen Christi Community Room.

Living Room Conversations are designed to make our church a place where we can talk about

important topics and feel safe, respected, understood. Where conversation around current issues

becomes a pathway to belonging and building community.

Treats will be served. Registration appreciated, but not required. Feel free to drop in!

Do you remember a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet who taught you when you were younger? Did you know that after the merger of St. Therese and St. Leo’s in 1971 there were six Sisters of St. Joseph who lived across the street and taught in our early classrooms? The Sisters have had a positive effect on more than just Highland Catholic, their impact reaches far and wide across the Twin Cities area.

Since the Sisters arrived in Minnesota in 1851, they have dedicated themselves to going where the need is greatest. The ministries and programs they’ve established in the Twin Cities ensure that healthcare, education, safe housing, spirituality resources, and social justice are available to all in our communities. With the founding of St. Mary’s Health Clinics individuals who cannot access government health services are ensured care through free clinics around the metro area. Sarah’s... an Oasis for Women was established to provide a supportive and safe home for women fleeing dangerous situations and persecution. The Sisters started Learning In Style School for immigrants and refugees wanting to learn English and study to become United States citizens. The Sisters of St. Joseph have long been, and continue to be, dedicated to supporting our communities and working toward positive change.

Each year the foundation that supports the Sisters’ ministries hosts a fundraising event, the Carondelet Celebration, to raise funds to continue their work. Taking place on Friday, May 5, at the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in Eagan, this year’s theme is ‘Turning Hope into Action.’ It is guaranteed to be an evening of music, games, fun, and hope. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet hope you can join them in joyfully celebrating and supporting the amazing impact they continue to have in the Twin Cities.
