Harris Park's Shared Mission and Vision
Happy lifelong learners. Passionate and positive in every way!
A Message from Mrs. Mills (Richey)
Happy Sunday, Harris Park Families!
Just a quick reminder about a few school rules:
- Hats are not allowed in school unless it's a designated spirit day.
- Please do not send toys, stuffed animals, or sports equipment with your child to school.
- Candy, soda, or caffeinated beverages should not be brought to school.
- No glass containers – they often break when dropped.
- Food sharing is not permitted, so if you send chips or snacks, please ensure they are single servings.
We’ll be celebrating Halloween on Tuesday, October 29th! Students are welcome to bring 30 individually wrapped, store-bought treats to share with classmates. Please do not send items like cookies or cupcakes. This will be similar to our Valentine's Day exchange, and the students always enjoy this fun tradition!
If your child’s teacher provides information about any allergies, please avoid sending treats that contain those allergens. Students will bring their bags of treats home so families can look through them together.
Costumes are welcome! However, costumes must be appropriate for young children (ages 3 and up). The following items are not allowed:
- Masks
- Face paint
- Fake blood
- Fangs
- Weapons or toy weapons (e.g., swords, knives, ninja stars, or guns)
We will have a Costume Parade at 2:00 PM (weather permitting) around the field. Parents and guardians are invited to watch from the grassy area inside the loop.
On Wednesday, October 30th, we’re taking a school-wide field trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science! Please note:
- No costumes on this day.
- If your child is bringing a lunch, please pack it in disposable containers, as we won’t be bringing personal items back.
- We will not be going into the gift shop, so please do not send any money with your child.
- Students will not bring personal items on the trip.
There will be no school on Thursday, October 31, or Friday, November 1.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Love,
Mrs. Mills (Richey)
