Colonial Park Weekly News
May 6 - May 10
Principal's Note
Dear Colonial Park Families -
I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of shorts tomorrow with an anticipated high temperature of 75 degrees! It looks like a typical New England week with the weather all over the place, but we will certainly enjoy Monday and Tuesday.
Last week, Curious Creatures returned to Colonial Park to entertain our first graders, and they loved it. On Friday, students in grade 4 had the opportunity to walk to the high school and enjoy a shortened performance of The Little Mermaid. Students and staff gave wonderful reviews, and we definitely have some future SHS drama club members!
We have two field trips coming up this week. On Thursday, May 9, Grade 2 will be visiting Einstein's Workshop, and on Friday our third graders will take a trip into Boston for the Duck Boats. It's going to be another exciting week!
Field Day will be held on Monday, June 3, with a rain date of Thursday, June 6. Families are invited to watch the morning's events and cheer on our students! Ms. Dean will provide more information as we get closer to the date.
As I mentioned last week, I am including a list of the important events that will occur before the end of the school year at the end of this newsletter. More information will follow regarding specific events and activities, and I will add new events as they come up.
I am leaving the May lunch menu attached, in case anyone missed it last Sunday. Have a wonderful week!
Best,
Rosa Flynn

*Ice Cream Social and Spring Art Show! - Attention preschool and kindergarten families - we need your help! We are excited to begin planning for our Annual Colonial Park Ice Cream Social and Art Show. This event is planned by the kindergarten and preschool families. It is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, May 16, and is a free event for our community. If you would like to help plan this year’s event, please email colonialparkpto@gmail.com. A planning meeting will be held next week.
*PTO Board Openings --We need your help! There have been NO interested people in the two Co-President positions we have available for the 2024-2025 school year. Our current Co-Presidents have each served two consecutive two-year terms, and ideally will shadow incoming co-presidents to provide support over the next academic year. Your involvement in the PTO Executive Board is needed to make our next school year an amazing one!
The Executive Board of the PTO is elected by the parents and caregivers of Colonial Park students. Seats are (typically) held for two years at a time. For the 2024-2025 School Year, we have two positions that must be voted on. If you are interested in running for Co-President (two positions), please review this form and submit your name ASAP. The slate of interested candidates will be announced before the end of April, and the election will be held during our May 14 PTO Meeting. If you have any questions about the positions or the process, please email colonialparkpto@gmail.com.
CP Moving On Committee - Dave and Busters Power Cards

You can have the power cards sent home with your student or you can pick it up on Friday May 17th from 4pm-6pm.
