Message from Mr. Hamacher
Good evening, Liberty Middle School Parents.
Liberty Middle School is hosting an assembly to recognize Veteran's Day on Monday, November 11, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the LMS Main Gym. We will have a special guest speaker, special student speeches, and performances by the LMS Band, Choir, and Orchestra. The assembly is open to the community. You are welcome to attend. There will be more information forthcoming.
As part of our program, our Veterans Program Team runs a couple of fundraisers to support Folds of Honor. The team is currently doing a Penny War where the winning teacher gets pied in front of the student body. Additionally, the team will be doing a walk-a-thon in mid-October. Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military members who have fallen or been disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Over the years, Chesterton Middle School has been able to raise thousands of dollars in support of our veterans and their families. If you are interested in donating, please make a check out to Liberty Middle School and have your student bring it to the LMS Main Office. Thank you!
I'd like to give a special shout out to our LMS Choir students and teacher! They performed beautifully on Wednesday, October 9th! Our LMS cross country teams finished a successful season! Congratulations! Our volleyball teams are wrapping up their seasons by competing in their end-of-year conference tournaments next week! The LMS Football team has one more regular season game next week against Col. Wheeler, and then face off in their season finale versus Westchester on October 22. A Message From Nurse Sam
As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our students, we want to inform you about an important update regarding students who are injured and wearing medical devices such as walking boots, crutches, casts, slings, or splints. Effective immediately, any student with a medical device will be required to provide a doctor’s note confirming that they are cleared to participate in both gym class and recess. If a doctor advises against participation for any specified duration, the student will need to provide a subsequent note from the doctor clearing the student to resume these activities once they are healed.
This update is designed to ensure that all students can safely engage in physical activities while also considering their health and recovery. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Health Clinic. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
