COME ONE AND ALL TO OUR WIXOM CARNIVAL

Our PTA is hosting our first Wixom Elementary Carnival. Come join us for this fun spring family event that will be held this Saturday, April 20 from 11 am - 2 pm at Wixom Elementary. The event will include games, crafts, face painting, dance party, raffle, and auction. Free popcorn and games for all kids who attend. Additional food will be available for purchase at the event.

This event can't happen without our amazing volunteers. We are still looking for lots more volunteers to help with setup, day of event activities, and clean up.

WIXOM CARNIVAL AUCTION AND THEMED BASKETS

The Wixom Carnival Auction is now open and ready for you to start bidding on amazing items like experiences with teachers, principal for a 1/2 day, reserved parking spots, food, golf, autographed sports memorabilia and lots more!

Start your bidding now at: https://app.memberhub.gives/b362fb. You will be notified electronically if you are outbid on an item. Bidding will continue until 1:45pm on Saturday! And winners will be announced at the Carnival.

During the Carnival, you can also buy raffle tickets for our themed baskets. Each basket is filled with fun items that you and your children will enjoy!

M-STEP TESTING FOR OUR 3rd, 4th, and 5th GRADE STUDENTS

All students in grades 3-8 in Michigan are required to take the M-STEP (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress). Click here for more information about the M-STEP state-wide summative testing.

If your child is in grades 3-5, please make sure your child is well rested and at school on testing days. Our 3rd and 4th grade students will take the Math and ELA (English Language Arts) assessments. Our 5th graders will take the Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies assessments. We will reach out to all of our families with students in grades 3-5 with more specific details about the testing.

Week of April 15:

· Mon 4/15 and Tues 4/16 -- 5th Grade Social Studies

· Tues 4/17, Wed 4/18, and Thurs 4/19 -- 5th Grade ELA

Week of April 22:

· Mon 4/22 and Wed 4/24 -- 3rd Grade Math

· Thurs 4/25 and Fri 4/26 -- 4th Grade Math

Week of April 29:

· Mon 4/29, Tues 4/30, and Wed 5/1 -- 3rd Grade ELA

· Thurs 5/2 and Fri 5/3 -- 4th Grade ELA

Week of May 6:

· Mon 5/6-- 4th Grade ELA

WIXOM ANNUAL FIELD DAY ON MAY 24

Save the date for Friday, May 24 for our annual Wixom Elementary Field Day. We need lots of parent volunteers to make this happen. The event will run from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm. Sign-up for volunteering for Field Day will be posted in a couple of weeks.

WIXOM PTA MEETING ON MAY 7

Our next PTA Meeting is on Tuesday, May 7 at 6:00 pm. During this meeting we will hold our annual Board Election for the 2024-25 school year.

The goals of the WatchDOGS are to:

be positive male role models for our Wixom Elementary students
lend a hand on projects for our teachers and staff
help enhance school security
reduce bullying through our regular presence on campus.

WIXOM LIBRARY SPRING USED BOOK SALE

Buy books at the Wixom Public Library, 49015 Pontiac Trail, Spring Used Book Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Wixom Library. Advance Sale for Friends Members only on Wednesday April 17th 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. (memberships available at the door.)

Public Sale begins Thursday, April 18th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will run Friday, April 19th from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and on Saturday April 20th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday – Fill a bag $5. Thousands of books and multimedia items for all ages, priced between 25 cents and $2, plus specially priced items.

LOST AND FOUND

Our Lost and Found continues to grow at Wixom Elementary. Please look carefully at this photo to see if any of these lost items belong to your child. If you recognize any of these items or are missing items, come to school to pick it up or direct your child to claim their lost item(s). All winter items will be donated at the end of the month.

Also remember to put your child's name all jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, winter outdoor gear, lunchboxes, and water bottles to make it easier for us to identify the owners of lost items.
