3rd Quarter Wrap-Up
Just a Reminder...the End of 3rd Quarter is March 11th.
With longer days, warmer weather, and spring sports/activities, sometimes it is hard to keep up those positive habits to ensure a successful finish to the school year. Below are some hints and tips to finish STRONG.
A Good Spring Cleaning
Is there anything needed supply wise to finish out the semester? Can their take home folder be cleared out? What strange items may be lurking in the bottom of their bookbags...smelly gym clothes, halloween candy wrappers, that missing Elf on the Shelf? Do you have all the necessary folders, binders, paper, pencils, notebooks, etc..to finish strong?
Finishing the Year Preparations
Though teachers and procedures are the same heading into 4th quarter, some things may change—such as adding more responsibilities for students as the year progresses or the coursework your child will do each day. Talking through any worries or concerns can help them feel more confident.
Talk to your children about their goals. What comes really easy to them? What are they good at? What area do they need to grow in? What did they struggle with during the first half of the year? Setting goals is not an easy task, but reflecting on 2025 so far can help them to make adjustments and finish STRONG.
Homework
Hopefully, your students have developed a solid routine for regular homework and practice. How did the first half of the year go? As sports/events are changing will 3rd quarter's schedule still be the best for fitting in homework or might things need to change up a bit. Remember, we do have ABCD and Soarin' after school where students can receive support if needed.
Listen
Just as we might not look forward to schedules changing, students have those same mixed feelings, as well. They might be excited about new activities and lessons—or they might feel anxious and apprehensive about the change. Both reactions are normal and valid. Encourage kids to voice their feelings and listen with patience. When children feel heard, they're more likely to share their feelings and worries. Act as a safe space, and let your kindness help them muster the courage needed to face all of life's challenges.
