Celebrate Archer Glen!
This week we get to celebrate our Archer Glen families! We simply could not do this work without your partnership and consider it a privilege to work alongside you. The fact that you entrust us with your child(ren) each day is not something we take for granted. Whether it’s through email check-ins, volunteering, or joining us for conferences and events, thank you for all you do!
In addition to our families, it’s important to recognize the considerable time, effort and energy put forth by our incredible PAC and PAC Board Members. This group of parents is extremely dedicated to Archer Glen and enriching the experience for ALL students. Check out many of the activities and opportunities we’ve had thanks to PAC and our families!
Clubs and Enrichment
Family & Student Events
There are a lot of fun opportunities for staff/families to gather and build community throughout the year. Many are led by PAC and include parent volunteers to help the events run smoothly. These include: Back to School Night, Fun Run, Holiday Sing Along, Bingo Night, Talent Show, Carnival, Dance Party, Popcorn Fridays…and so much more!
Staff Events
Our annual “Welcome Back Breakfast” & Staff Appreciation Week are just two of the ways PAC and our families make our staff feel special. Our staff works incredibly hard and the support and love we feel is invaluable.
Site Council
Our Site Council meets with our school team three times a year and helps with input and guidance regarding upcoming events or current school operations. They’re eager to learn about Archer Glen, always come with great questions and contribute to the school-parent partnership in a meaningful way.
STEM Room Request
The STEM room is in need of empty cereal boxes for a future 5th grade unit. If you have any at home feel free to have your child bring them in and they can be dropped off at the STEM room.
Thank you!
Ms. Phillips
Electronic Report Cards - Starting Tri 2
Hello SSD Families,
The Sherwood School District will provide families with electronic report cards for all students, starting with the report cards for Trimester 2. As we move to this paperless option, report card delivery to all families will default to "paperless-only," and paper report cards will no longer be mailed home.
Additionally, we will be implementing a new platform called ParentSquare to facilitate digital report card delivery. Once grades are finalized, you will receive a secure link by email/text to access your child’s report cards using the ParentSquare website or mobile app. Login instructions will come closer to the report card delivery date. Report cards will also continue to be available through ParentVUE.
If you would prefer to receive a paper copy of your child’s report card, you can opt out of the electronic-only option in your ParentVUE account. For opt-out instructions, please visit our website at https://sherwood.k12.or.us/electronic-report-cards/ or contact your school office for assistance.

State Testing Notice
Oregon's Statewide Assessments in science, mathematics, and English language arts will begin in April for students in grades 3-8.
Scheduled testing will take place during the school day. For additional information on the State Assessments from the Oregon Department of Education, please review the following link.
While no single test can give a complete picture of your child’s progress, statewide tests provide information to students and families, as well as to educators and administrators, about what educational approaches are working and where additional resources are needed. Your child’s participation is important to ensure schools and districts receive the targeted resources they need to help all students succeed. Districts are rated on their participation levels as well as student performance on this exam.
Oregon law (ORS 329.479) permits parents and adult students to annually opt-out of Oregon’s statewide summative tests in English Language Arts and Math by submitting a form to the school the student attends. If you decide to opt your child out of the math and/or ELA state assessments, please submit the following form to your school front office by Friday, April 12 to best support our school with planning for this year's testing schedule:
Superintendent Search - Share Your Feedback With Our School Board!
The SSD Board of Directors is seeking family, staff, and community feedback related to the hiring of the next superintendent for our district. Your feedback is important to our Board of Directors as they determine the essential superintendent qualities and qualifications that will guide the hiring process.
For those interested in sharing in-person feedback, we will be hosting a Community Feedback Forum on Monday, March 11, 6:30-8:00pm at the Archer Glen Cafeteria; all stakeholders are welcome.
Additionally, an anonymous feedback survey is now available (survey closes March 18). Please see the links below to complete this survey.
