LRP Family Update
October 2024
A Message from Mrs. Parent
Hello LRP Families,
We are excited to share that we’ve had a fantastic start to the school year! The first quarter will come to an end on October 18th, and benchmark assessments are currently underway. To support your child’s success, daily attendance is especially important during this time.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are just around the corner, and you’ll be receiving sign-up information soon. We are aiming for 100% participation, so please make sure to sign up for a time slot to meet with your child’s teacher. Your involvement is key to ensuring a strong partnership in your child’s education.
October is shaping up to be a busy month with upcoming field trips for our Kindergarten and 1st grade students, Fire Day with the fire department, and two Spirit Weeks—Homecoming Spirit Week next week and Red Ribbon Spirit Week later this month.
Thank you for helping us have such a smooth and successful start to the school year! We look forward to continuing to work together to make this year great for our Wildcats.
Sincerely,
Ashley Parent
Logan-Rogersville Primary Principal

Attendance
Our theme for LRP this year is "Bring your A Game!", with the "A" standing for Academics, Attendance, and Attitude—three key elements that are crucial for student success.
While we have always prioritized academics and attitude, we’ve noticed that attendance has been more challenging for some families since the disruptions caused by COVID-19. This year, we are making attendance a top priority.
Regular attendance is essential for your child’s academic growth and overall success. When students are present in class, they can fully engage in learning, participate in discussions, and build relationships with their peers and teachers. Every day in school is an opportunity for your child to learn something new, and consistent attendance helps them stay on track and achieve their best.
With attendance being a top priority for us this year, I wanted to share some numbers with you.
- Our overall attendance percentage for the 24-25 school year for K/1 is 94.33% and for PK is 93.62% so far. We would really love to see these numbers rise to above 95%!
- We have had 524 students arrive late or leave early during the first six weeks of school. We need your help in lowering this number by making sure all students attend for the full school day. A few minutes every day can add up quickly!
- Each month, our PTA rewards the K/1 classes with the best attendance by providing them with an extra recess! For the month of September, the winning classes were Mrs. Guison (95.98%) for kindergarten and Mrs. Owens (97.73%) for first grade.
- Each month, all K/1 students with 98% attendance or above will be invited to a special event to celebrate their great attendance! We celebrated September attendance with a special glow dance party on Tuesday.
We understand that there are times when absences are unavoidable, but we encourage you to make every effort to ensure your child is at school on time each day and remains at school until dismissal. Together, we can help your child "Bring Their A Game" every day by being present, prepared, and positive.
School Store
The school store is a convenient way to make LR purchases. You can use the site to pay lunch balances and to purchase your child's class shirt.
*All LRP students need to purchase a class shirt. These are worn to our Character Assemblies, on field trips, and on Track & Field Day. If purchasing a shirt is a hardship on your family, please communicate that with the school office.
Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures
Please note some changes in our drop off and pick up locations for the 24-25 school year.
Now that our construction is finished up, we will be utilizing two entrances for drop off and pick up. K/1 students will be dropped off and picked up on the north side of the building (same location as last year). Our preschoolers will be picked up and dropped off on the south side of the building. If you have a preschooler with an older K/1 sibling, the older sibling is welcome to also be picked up and dropped off at the preschool doors so parents only have to use one drop off location. If this is a plan you need to utilize for your child, please communicate that with your child's teacher ASAP to make sure everyone is in the loop and we get your child to the right location each day.
We will begin morning drop-off at 8:20. Please do not let your child leave your car until the teacher on duty at 8:20 starts to dismiss students. This door closes at 8:40 each morning. Anyone arriving after 8:40 must walk their child in the front entrance of the building to check him/her in with the office staff. All walkers and late drop offs (after 8:40) must use the main entrance, not the other front doors. Please do not drive around buses that are loading or unloading at any time.
During student pick-up, drivers must show a car pick-up tag with the student’s name. If you don’t have a tag, you will need to park and come into the office to pick up your child. Please be prepared to show identification to verify you are on the student’s pick up list.
If you have a change in transportation, please communicate with your child’s teacher via Seesaw before 2:45pm. If you need to change transportation after 2:45pm, please contact the school office at 417.881.2947. Changes in dismissal plans after 2:45pm will only be taken on an emergency basis.
Please watch this video to see how the K/1 car line works.
Before / After School CatCare
Both the before and after school CatCare programs for K/1 students will take place at the Primary School again this year. The before school program runs from 7:00-8:20am and is $2.00/day. The after school program runs from 3:40-6:00pm and is $6.00/day. If students arrive before 8:20, they must go to the before school program and will be charged $2.00/day.
CatCare balances and credits will be carried over from summer school and last school year. If you are interested in sending your child to CatCare, registration forms are located on the school website under “Parent Resources”. If you have any questions regarding CatCare, you can contact Melissa Roberts, the supervising administrator for the Primary CatCare program at mroberts@logrogstudents.net.
We want to remind you that after-school child care services will not be available for accounts with balances exceeding $45 if the invoice remains unpaid. To ensure continued access to our services, please make sure your account is up to date. If you have any questions or need assistance with your account, feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Hat / Hood Policy
Hats and hoods are not to be worn in the school building (other than hats for spirit days). If a child chooses to bring a hat for recess, it should stay in their backpack until recess time. This is a consistent expectation for all three elementary buildings. Please help us in reiterating this expectation with your child.
