Summer Meal Information

BGISD will offer free meals for children 18 and younger from June 3 - August 2 (Closed July 4 and 5) www.bgreen.kyschools.us/summer-meals-2024


The following sites will be open Monday-Friday with breakfast served from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Bowling Green Learning Center, 503 Old Morgantown Road

  • Dishman McGinnis, 375 Glen Lily Road

  • Parker-Bennett-Curry, 165 Webb Drive


The Purple Bus will deliver lunch meals to the following locations Monday-Friday:

  • Lisa Rice Library (WCPL): 11:20a-12:15p

  • Creekwood Apartments: 12:30p-12:50p

  • Russell Sims Aquatic Center: 1:00p-1:15p


A BGISD Van will deliver lunch meals to the following locations Monday-Friday:

  • International Center: 10:00-10:35a (**Monday-Thursday)

  • Garden Apartments: 10:50a-11:10a

  • Phenix Place: 11:15a-11:30a

  • T. C. Cherry Elementary: 11:40a-11:55a

  • Circus Square Park: 12:05p-12:30p

  • Abel Court: 12:35p-12:50p

Itty Bitty Purples Preschool Now Enrolling

Preschool Screeners will take place on the following dates:

5/10 at CO

6/4 at TBD

7/31 at TBD

Application


The Little Purples Academy will open in January 2025 to serve 66 children in four childcare rooms, from infant to 5 years old. The application will be available at 8:00 a.m. on July 1, 2024. Admission will be granted based on the date of application, including the time stamp of the application form. A $100 commitment will be required to hold the position.

Kindergarten Pre-Registration Now Open

The Kindergarten Pre-Registration form for 2024-25 is now open. Pre-Registration is used to notify BGISD of plans to enroll a Kindergarten student beginning August 2024. Schools will use the information provided to contact families and schedule an appointment for registration at school. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 1, 2024.


The Non-Resident Application is also available on the district website. Priority enrollment for nonresident students is based on the date of application, with priority to those applying before March 31st. Siblings of current non-resident students should also submit a nonresident application prior to March 31st. Non-resident students will be notified about enrolling for the upcoming year on or soon after April 15th.

BGISD Cross Country Team Info

Looking for a fun and healthy summer activity for students that will extend into the fall school year? BGISD cross country teams are inviting kids as young as 1st grade this upcoming season (Fall 2024).

Early practice starts Monday, July 15 (for Jr High) and officially begins Monday, July 29 (for Elem). Race distance is 2K (1.2 miles) for elementary and 3K (1.8 miles) for Jr High. Any level of runners are welcome!
