The best example...
“Education...is painful, continual and difficult work to be done in kindness, by watching, by warning,... by praise, but above all -- by example.”
- John Ruskin
All students K-12 at RR will have the following courses most days: English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Art, Music, PE, and Spanish. Additionally, secondary students have the option for CTE courses like Ag and Business. This rigorous schedule that our students follow makes it a challenge to lead by example as the above quote recommends when one considers all the disciplines that our children are enveloped in on a daily basis. Where would we find the time? So, what can we do? The answer is that we can lead by example in many other ways. When we model any or all of the following character traits that are yet another facet of education. Here is a short, adapted list of character traits that have been identified as critical to life success as identified by CollegeTrack: Gratitude, Resiliency, Integrity, Tenacity, and Empathy. Even if we can't lead by example in every content area, we can certainly model these skills to help in the education process!
