A HUGE shout-out to the PTA and Community, for an Awesome Spring Picnic 2025
Principal's Update
Dear Kenwood Families,
Thank you for joining us at the Spring Picnic! The weather kept us on our toes, for sure, but we were fortunate to enjoy time together, surrounded by exuberant children! We thank the Kenwood PTA for providing the food truck, the inflatable obstacle course, planting opportunities, the Kenwood Closet, and this wonderful opportunity to celebrate our community.
I’d like to share important information about dear staff members who are moving on from Kenwood at the end of the school year. We are so grateful for their profound contributions to our school community, and we wish them well as they pursue their professional and personal opportunities and dreams this summer and beyond:
Ally Adamski, School Social Worker
Brenna Peterkin, .5 Special Education Resource Teacher
Kennedy Treichler, 1st Grade Teacher
Will Watson, 1st/2nd Grade Teacher
Adam Jenkinson, 3rd Grade Teacher
Andrew Masters, Culinary Services Associate
As you know, two interview teams and I have been interviewing candidates for special education and general education positions for the 2025-26 school year. It’s always inspiring to meet talented educators who are eager to join our school community. I’ll be able to share detailed information about our new staff members and their grade level team/department placements before the end of the year.
I look forward to celebrating the end of the year in many joyful ways with you: the 4/5 Music and Band Concert is on Thursday, May 22; Field Day is on May 28 (unless it rains, and then it’ll be on May 29); the Kindergarten Completion Ceremony is on June 4 at 3:00 pm; and the 5th Grade Completion Ceremony is on June 5 at 10:00 am. The last day of school is on Friday, June 6. Amazing!
I wish you a relaxing weekend!
Sincerely,
Heidi Johnson

2025-2026 School Year Bus Riders: Save Your Seat on the Bus with our New App 🚌
Dear Kenwood Caregivers:
It's time to plan transportation for the 2025-26 school year! We're excited to introduce My Ride, a new GPS app for caregivers to request busing for students. Download the app, create an account, and submit a Save Your Seat form for each student who needs busing.
You'll receive your bus schedule through the app before school starts and can track the bus in real time during the school year. If you prefer not to use the app, contact your student's school to submit a request on your behalf. All families must complete the transportation form by June 6, even if your schedule remains the same. Reach out to your student's school with questions.
