Eisenhower Patriots Summer Mailer
Everything you need to know to start 2022-2023 School Year!
End of School Year Message from Dr. Gideon.
Dear Patriot Students and Families,
You did it! You made it through the first full year back in school since the pandemic started two years ago. This wasn't an easy year, but I am so proud of the resiliency of the Patriot students. This took a lot of effort from the community, PTSA, Natural Leaders, parent volunteers, teachers, families, and students. There was significant growth this year from our students, we will continue to grow and improve every day, and next year will be even better.
Good luck to our 8th graders; we wish you the best. Remember our patriot code to be safe, respectful, and responsible. Please believe in yourself, try your best in all your classes, and get involved. You have a bright future ahead. We will miss you!
For everyone, please take time to reflect, relax, and enjoy your summer. Below is some pertinent information related to Eisenhower middle school for returning families and future patriots. Please take a look below.
I look forward to seeing you soon, your proud principal.
Dr. Gideon
Message from Mr. Cowart
To all Eisenhower families and community:
It is with a bittersweet heart that I announce my departure as the assistant principal of Eisenhower.
Serving the students and families of this community this past year was a privilege, and I sincerely hope that I was able to affect positive change in our school and our community. I will be starting a new role with the district on the academics team to further the work of providing rigorous and engaging classes for all of our students.
While I’m sad to be leaving Eisenhower, I’m excited to stay with Everett Public Schools and continue to serve our community in a different capacity. I wish you all the very best moving forward, and am excited to see the great things that Dr. Gideon and his new team will do here,
Sincerely,
Jon Cowart
Welcome Our New Assistant Principals!
We are proud to be adding two new assistant principals to Eisenhower Middle School next year! Kate Vafaeezadeh and Pachomius Schmidt will be welcome additions to the IKE family.
Message from Kate:
Hello Eisenhower families and staff! My name is Kate Vafaeezadeh and I am thrilled to be one of your Assistant Principals next year. I am passionate about inclusive education for all students and removing barriers to educational equity. I have taught English, history, and AVID at Evergreen Middle School for the past ten years as well as interning as an Assistant Principal at Everett High School from January to June of this year. As well as ELA, social studies, and history, I also have a special education endorsement. My undergrad and Master’s degrees are from the University of Washington, Bothell (go Huskies!) On a personal note, I have been married for almost 30 years and we have three adult children and a granddog. I am so looking forward to meeting and working with you and your students next year!

Message from Pachomius
Hello Eisenhower families, students and staff! I am excited to join the Eisenhower team as one of the new assistant principals. Over the course of my career I have been privileged to work as a secondary math teacher, elementary teacher, instructional coach, and a middle school assistant principal. I began my career in education in 2002, teaching math and ESL in East Asia, before moving back to the states to be close to my family in 2008. I have been in public education ever since and my experience has made me a strong advocate for our public school system as we make a positive impact in our community. In our free time, my husband and I enjoy spending lots of time outdoors, and we're always looking for new recipes to try out as we enjoy lots of dishes from around the world. I am looking forward to spending time getting to know all of you as we work together to create positive learning experiences for all of our students.
Pachomius S.

Must Have Facts for Success At Eisenhower
Before a child may attend a school or childcare in the state of Washington, the parent/guardian must provide proof of their immunization status. The attendance of every child at every public school in the state of Washington shall be conditioned upon the presentation before or on each child's first day of attendance at a particular school or center, of proof of either (a) full immunization, (b) the initiation of and compliance with a schedule of immunization, as required by rules of the state board of health, or (c) a certificate of exemption as provided for in RCW 28A.210.090.
Parents, foster parents, and guardians are responsible for their child meeting immunization requirements. Parents must submit a complete and medically verified Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) to their child’s school, preschool, or child care before the child can attend. See WAC 246-105-050 for more information.
The immunization requirements for the 2022-2023 school year can be found here.
Once we have received your documents, we will determine your child’s compliance with the state immunization requirements. If additional info, documentation or immunizations are needed, we will be in contact. As a reminder students must be in compliance with the state immunization requirements before they can start school.
