Greetings Golden Lions!

As the 2021-2022 school year approaches I want to tell you how excited I am that our beautiful building will be opening in just a week and a half! It's been great to see so many students at STEM Bridge Camp and Lion Camp - and I hope our students are as excited as we are.

McKinzey Middle School was built on the idea of community - from the collaboration spaces to the flexible seating, our school will foster 21st century skills that will help develop scholars and leaders. We also know how important it is to develop the whole child, so we are also imbedding social/emotional learning, which focuses on our values of positive relationships, kindness, resiliency, communication, and integrity. We've been afforded the latest technology and instructional materials to help engage every learner - no matter their learning style. McKinzey will be a place that will prepare all students for high school and beyond.

I am appreciative of the McKinzey community for the support you've already shown - bringing your learner to camp, strength and conditioning, music practice, and more is greatly appreciated as we build our programs. Thank you for your support!

Please keep in mind we have never done a full scale arrival/dismissal at McKinzey. We've worked with transportation and the MISD Police to develop a plan that we believe will work well, but if there are kinks in the system, we will re-visit and revise where needed.

As we all learn the traffic pattern at McKinzey, please be patient and expect delays. Within the first week you should see a significant decrease in wait times. Thank you for your patience!

On the first day of school, all students need is

1. backpack
2. something to write with
3. something to write on
4. lunch (if bringing lunch)

Students should start bringing their supplies by the 2nd day of school. Teachers will communicate if any supplies are to be kept in the classroom.

For the supplies that are turned in, your student can bring those over multiple days if needed.

Our student nutrition department will continue to give free breakfast and lunch to all students!

We have had a blast working with our athletes at SAC!! Please find the tryout letter, information, and required signup below for volleyball and cross country. You will find detailed tryout times and mandatory dates in the attached letter. Please note, your physical and online forms must be complete prior to attending tryouts.
