I am honored to introduce myself as the Principal of Sloan Creek Intermediate School and officially WELCOME you to the 2023-2024 school year with the first "Principal Message"! This weekly communication is sent on Thursday evenings throughout the school year, but I wanted to share this one a little early as I know "Back to School" is on your mind.
Please take a moment to read these important updates and don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all.
EXCITED to see what we will accomplish together in 2023-2024!
Lovejoy PROUD,

YOUR ADMINISTRATORS AND OFFICE STAFF
Megan Rawlins, Principal
The 2023-2024 school year will be my 21st year in education and 5th year with Lovejoy ISD. I spent the past two years serving as Assistant Principal at Hart Elementary, and served as Assistant Principal at Puster Elementary for two years prior to that. I am excited about the opportunity to serve so many students and families I already know and love and look forward to meeting our new Leopards! ❤️
My educational background includes a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College. I live in Fairview with my husband, Allen, and our two daughters. Allen is the Director of Sales for Rosenberger, a German Technology company. Nora is a rising 3rd grader at Puster Elementary who loves gymnastics, theater, singing and sports. Rose is a busy 4-year-old who enjoys gymnastics, dancing and playing ‘school’ with her sister.
I am committed to upholding the Lovejoy legacy of excellence in education and preparing our 5th and 6th grade students for secondary school and beyond. Thank you for entrusting me and the outstanding Sloan Creek staff with your most precious gifts and partnering with us to provide an exceptional experience for all.

STUDENT TECHNOLOGY
Lovejoy ISD is excited to announce that we will be providing a Chromebook device for each student in grades 5 through 12 for the 2023-2024 school year. We are excited to be able to offer yet another tool that will continue to set Lovejoy ISD apart as a leader in student instruction.
Chromebooks will be distributed at SCIS on Wednesday, August 16. This gives us time to review expectations and prepare our students for taking responsibility of their device.
As students will transport Chromebooks to and from school each day, you may consider a sturdy backpack with a device 'sleeve' for extra protection.
