Raising Eagles
Effective Problem Solvers

Welcome to the Third Edition of Raising Eagles!
Raising Eagles, previously known as Parent University, aims to enhance the collaboration between home and school by supporting parents and caregivers as partners, advocates, and continuous learners in their child's education. Raising Eagles will offer a range of events, including in-person sessions and webinars, throughout the district. Sessions will generally focus on specific age groups to ensure relevance to your needs.
Our aim is for Allen High School graduates to become:
- Effective Communicators
- Responsible and Engaged Citizens
- Effective Problem Solvers
- Academically Prepared for Future Pursuits
Each quarter, all families will receive a newsletter that focuses on one key aspect of our graduate profile. This quarter, we are concentrating on helping our students become Effective Problem Solvers.
We hope these newsletters provide valuable support and guidance for you at home. We recognize that parenting can be challenging, and we are here to partner with and support you every step of the way.
Why is it important for students to be effective problem solvers?

Determination: Staying focused on the goal even when progress is slow or difficult.
Resilience: Bouncing back from failures or difficulties and continuing to try.
Patience: Understanding that achieving goals may take time and effort, and not giving up prematurely.
Consistency: Maintaining steady effort over time, even when the initial excitement or motivation wanes.
Problem-Solving: Adapting strategies or finding new ways to overcome barriers when faced with challenges.
Optimism: Keeping a positive mindset and believing that success is possible, despite setbacks.
In essence, perseverance is about staying committed and continuing to push forward, even when things get tough.
