From Ms. O's Desk
Dear Quetzal Families,
It’s hard to believe how quickly the year is coming to an end. Time has flown by, and we are so proud of how much our students have accomplished! They’ve worked incredibly hard in reading, math, and biliteracy, and it has been inspiring to see their dedication to learning and practicing two languages.
A big thank you to Mrs. Teri Castro, Saskia Hoffmann, Jonathan Lu, and Samuel Soubeyran for stepping up to serve on our School Site Council. We will share their bios next week so you can vote to fill the four open positions on the committee. If you’re interested in joining the School Site Council for the next school year, please email me your name and a short bio by Monday, May 19th to be included on the ballot.
The final three weeks of school are filled with exciting events! Please check our calendar and join us whenever you can. If you volunteered this school year, we would love to thank you in person at our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Wednesday, May 28th at 8:15 AM. If you’re done volunteering for the year, please return your badge to Mrs. Coco in the office by May 26th. If you plan to continue volunteering through the last week, you may return it on Tuesday, June 3rd. Please let Coco know.
Finally, a reminder that our last Parent University session is tomorrow at 5:00 PM. We’ll be discussing Tobacco Use Prevention. Dinner and childcare will be provided.
Movie night
Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week!

Middle school readiness assemblies for fifth-graders
The Mountain View Police Department School Resource Officers (SROs) are committed to working with our schools to support the well-being of all of our students.
As part of their ongoing work to build positive, supportive relationships with our students, the SROs have partnered with school administrators to schedule an educational presentation designed to help our incoming sixth graders navigate middle school with confidence and responsibility. On May 19th, SROs will visit our school to present strategies to fifth-graders for making healthy, safe choices.
If you have any questions, please contact the school principal or Sgt. Christine Powell at christine.powell@mountainview.gov
