AP Honor Roll Bronze Designation

For the second year in a row, A.C. Flora has been named to the College Board’s AP School Honor Roll. The recognition program, which launched in 2023, celebrates schools whose AP programs are “delivering results for students while broadening access.”

The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. A.C. Flora earned the bronze recognition.

To qualify for the AP School Honor Roll, A.C. Flora achieved the following:

College Culture: 49% of the graduating class took at least one AP exam during high school.
College Credit: 30% of the graduating class scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam during high school.
College Optimization: 10% or more of the graduating class took five or more AP exams during high school, with at least one exam taken in ninth or tenth grade.

Pre-ACT/PSAT/Senior Day:

All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will participate in the Pre-ACT (9th) or PSAT (10th/11th) at AC Flora Wednesday, October 16th.

On this day, seniors will have the opportunity to participate in activities that will directly relate to their post-secondary futures. All seniors will be required to participate in one of the activities below to be counted present at school on that day.

Seniors can choose:

1. College and Career Information Session in the Theatre at AC Flora High School

2. Job Shadowing Opportunity

3. Service Learning Opportunity

4. College Visit

All students that attend the information center in the Theatre will be required to attend the entire program, through the end of testing, in order to be marked present.

Please make sure that all paperwork is returned by Wednesday, October 23, 2024. If paperwork is not returned by the deadline, your student will be marked absent.

National Honor Society - Deadline Extended!

The Zhuowei Yin Chapter of the National Honor Society at AC Flora High School will accept new members this fall. We have sent emails to students who are academically eligible to be considered for membership. The academic criteria are: the student must be a junior or senior (not already in NHS) with a weighted GPA of 3.750 or higher. Applications must be filled out by the student and returned to Mrs. Purdy in room 203 no later than Monday, October 14, 2024. Late applications will not be considered. Students who are selected by the faculty committee for membership will participate in an induction ceremony on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 6 pm in the AC Flora Theater.

Senior Portraits- Sittings Still Available

Seniors! If you haven't taken your senior portrait yet, Legacy Studios will be here tomorrow, Friday, October 4 and Friday, November 1. Please click here to schedule.

Wednesday, November 13 (auditorium lobby) will be the last chance to have your senior's portrait taken on campus. These sittings do not need an appointment, but are tux/drape only.

Fall BBQ Fundraiser – October 3rd

Close your kitchen tonight, Thursday, October 3, and let us provide dinner for your family!

The AC Flora Athletic Booster Club will host its annual Fall BBQ Fundraiser on Thursday, October 3rd. BBQ plates will be served via drive-thru at the AC Flora Main Office entrance from 5-7pm (rain or shine) with walk-up plates available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

PTSO Swag! Thank you to all supporters of AC Flora’s Parent Teacher Student Organization. For those who have made donations of $25 or more to the PTSO, your Falcon Swag will be available for pickup in the AC Flora front office at the end of this week and next week.
