Vape Prevention Presentation
Dear Parents and Guardians:
We are working with the Arapahoe County Public Health Department to provide vaping prevention
education to our middle schoolers. While cigarette use has significantly declined among adolescents and young adults, e-cigarettes are the most commonly used tobacco product among youth, and many of them contain nicotine, flavorings, and other chemicals that can be harmful.
The goal of the presentation is to educate our students about the dangers of vaping/tobacco use, and to empower them to make healthy choices and avoid all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes. The presentation will also address common myths and misconceptions about vaping/tobacco, and provide tips on how to resist peer pressure and seek help if needed.
As a parent or guardian, you play a vital role in preventing and reducing youth vaping/tobacco use. We encourage you to talk to your child about this topic before and after the presentation, and to reinforce the messages and skills they will learn.
If you do not want your child to attend the tobacco presentation, please
fill out the form below and return it to the school office by May 8th. A paper copy can be obtained from the main office as well. If we do not receive the form by the deadline, we will assume that you consent to your child’s participation.
Cell Phone Use
Dear Parents and Guardians:
We would like to inform you that due to students misusage of cell phones, cell phones usage will be prohibited in school by all students. If a student is caught with a cell phone, it will be confiscated and a parent will need to pick up the phone at the end of the day. If students need to communicate with a parent, they will need to ask a teacher for permission to use the classroom phone. If your child were to have an emergency, the school will communicate with you.
Administration
Course selection for the 2024-25 school year
We are so excited about the classes and teachers we have lined up for the 2024-25 school year! Lotus is publishing its first-ever Program of Studies that will help students and parents choose their classes with confidence.
Students will be able to choose their classes in May through Infinite Campus.
TARDY POLICY
Dear Families,
Please remind your students of the importance of being in class on time. Tardies don't only prevent your child from receiving a full day of instruction, but also interrupts other's learning.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
