Big T Weekly
November 1, 2024
A Message From the Principal
Dear Big T Families,
This was a fun-filled Spirit Week. Check out the pictures from the various days of this week on our Facebook and Instagram pages as well as some more in this newsletter.
If you have not already done so, please take a moment to complete the “Climate and Culture” survey (see the link/QR code below). We appreciate your feedback as it helps us know what we are doing well and where we need to grow.
We are participating in a canned food drive to benefit families in Loveland and Berthoud, November 4th- December 5th. Each class has a box outside the door. The class with the most cans at the end of the contest, will win a pizza party for the class.
Each and every day we are walking and talking about our mission to “think big, act big and do big” while being respectful, responsible and reflecting and revising. Take a moment and ask your student in what way they represented the mission.
Tomorrow marks our 73rd Chili Supper and Silent Auction. It is a tried and true tradition for Big T and one you will not want to miss. Hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Sarah Walgast
Principal

Art To Remember Orders Due Soon
Don’t Miss Out! Now is the time to place your order for custom keepsake products featuring your child’s artwork. These items make great gifts for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and any other important person in your child’s life. Our art program having diverse materials to use relies heavily on the funding from this program! Without this program we could not do clay projects every year.
The deadline to order (and get FREE shipping to school) is NOVEMBER 8th!! (Late orders can be made any time, but will incur a shipping cost.) Go to ArtToRemember.com to place your order.
Thank you for supporting our school's art classroom!
We want to hear from our families and community members about how we are doing, both from an individual school perspective and throughout the entire district.

Messages From The Office
* When your student is absent it is a good idea to reach out to their teacher to get work to do at home. However, still call the attendance line or email the office to excuse the absence. Teachers are busy and may not have time to let the office know that the absence was excused through them.
You can now excuse the absence through the parent portal if that is more convenient for you.
* If your student is absent due to an appointment, please get a medical note from the clinic and send it to the front office. Medical appointments with a note are the only absences the state of Colorado considers as excused for their count purposes.
* Remember, if you need to change how your student normally goes home please call or email the office before 2:30 PM. Stacey.faykosh@tsd.org or 970-613-5600
* Please remember that toys are to remain at home. They can be a distraction in the classroom and there are tears if the toy disappears.
**Small lost and found items are usually kept at the office.
ATTENTION 5th GRADE PARENTS
If you are Choice enrolled at Big T and your boundry school is not Walt Clark but you would like your student to attend Walt Clark, you will need to do the choice enrollment which opens on November 1st.
If Walt Clark is your boundry school but you would like to attend a different middle school you will need to do the choice enrollment.
If neither of these situations apply to you then you do not need to do anything. Your enrollment will automatically roll over to your boundry school for next year which for most of you is Walt Clark.
