NATIONAL CAREER READINESS CERTIFICATION ASSESSMENT
All Juniors will be taking the National Career Readiness Certification Assessment on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024. The assessment will be in Room 100. Students A - J will test from 8:05 - 11:00 p.m.; students K - Z will test from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Please bring your laptop & charger as well as a pencil and calculator.

STURGIS SCOOPER HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS
Mission:
The purpose of the Sturgis Brown High School Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize SBHS athletes, coaches/administrators and community members who have made tremendous contributions to Sturgis Brown High School in South Dakota High School Activities Association sanctioned activities.
Eligibility Requirements:
Any individual who has been involved in athletics at Sturgis Brown High School (athlete, coach, advisor, administrator) and/or those individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the communities of the Meade School District and Sturgis Brown High School. In general, those individuals that have had a direct involvement and impact on the promotion of Sturgis Brown High School are eligible for induction into the SBHS Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame Inductee Eligibility:
To be eligible for consideration, the athlete must have been out of high school for a minimum of five (5) years. To be eligible for consideration as a coach, advisor, and/or administrator, the person must be retired or no longer employed by the Meade School District 46-1 for a minimum of three (3) years. Athletes, coaches, advisors and/or administrators can be inducted posthumously at any time. There shall be no year qualifications for contributors.
Congratulations to the SBHS Cheer Team
Congratulations to the SBHS Competitive Cheer Team for setting a school record for the highest points scored for a performance. The team competed at the State Tournament on Saturday, October 26 at the Monument in Rapid City.
Congratulations to Kira Willnerd and Kathleen Cook, both were selected for the All State Competitive Cheer Team. Congrats Kira and Kathleen!

BOYS STATE 2025 ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Attention high school juniors or seniors! Applications are NOW being accepted for the 82nd session of South Dakota Boys State which will be held on the campus of Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD from June 2-6, 2025.
American Legion Boys State of South Dakota has a two-fold purpose. First, to better help youth understand and appreciate the American system of government and way of life including the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Secondly, to give a better knowledge of the fundamental principles of government within the state of South Dakota.

ALA South Dakota Girls State is designed to empower and inspire young women to become active and informed citizens, while fostering friendships, creating lasting memories, and providing valuable educational and networking opportunities, these programs are the perfect program for anyone to attend to grow on an academic and personal level.
2024-25 WEIGHTLIFTING SHIRT FUNDRAISER
Zara Wallace and Trinity Smith have designed this year's shirt to give back to promote and celebrate the Fitness Program and all profit goes towards the weight room and its students. I think you are going to like this year’s theme…it is "Dream Big, Work Hard, Stay Humble...and Never Give Up."
