Our Mission
At Bird, staff, students, families and our community work together to ensure all learn and grow through building meaningful relationships and providing rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive experiences.
Our Vision
To be a welcoming, inspiring, empowering learning community where ALL thrive.
A Note From Pang...
Our school has spent the last 4 weeks building routines and expectations, creating classroom contracts, and learning how to play and work together as a community! We will continue this month with reinforcing, reminding, and redirecting high expectations for all our scholar
Mrs. Livingston and I also had the opportunity to go into all our classrooms to reteach expectations around safety in the hallways, responsibilities in the bathroom, and respect with gentle words and hands to ourselves and off each other. Ask your scholar if they know what the 3 rules of the THE BLUE JAY WAY is!
We also introduced our BIRD CASH to our scholars and teachers this past week! BIRD CASH is a PBIS strategy that reinforces positive behaviors and proactively give scholars immediate feedback on the great choices they are making by following the Blue Jay Way. Any staff can give our scholars a BIRD CASH ticket that can be redeemed in the classroom! They will also be able to bring the other side home to celebrate with you!
Just like the picture of Tamara and me, we know this is going to be the best year ever!

Before School Procedures
When students arrive between 7:30 and 7:40, they should walk to the back of the school and enter the school building at the back of the school by the cafeteria.
Kindergarteners, 1st graders and 4th graders will enter through door 6
2nd graders, 3rd graders and 5th graders will enter through door 7.
Students may purchase a breakfast in the cafeteria when they enter school and will bring their breakfast to the classroom to eat.
After School Dismissal Procedures
Students will exit the school in the back of the school by the cafeteria. If you are meeting your student and walking home, designate a meeting location outside the back of the school.
If you are picking up in a vehicle, students will walk along the side of the school looking for your vehicle and will wait on the sidewalk until you are able to pull forward to them. Pull as far forward as possible.
Students should not enter or exit a vehicle before the crosswalk. There are posted signs to let you know when it is ok for students to enter the vehicle. Once you are past the sign, pull as far forward as possible and pick up your student.
Attendance Information
If your child will be late, sick or just out for the day, please be sure to call the attendance line by 8:00 am. The bell rings and attendance is taken at 7:55am.
PLEASE make sure your information in Infinite Campus is up to date with emergency contact information in case your student is ill and needs to go home.

New Electronic Safety Tip Line
The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority for the district. We have been teaching our students to say something to a trusted adult when they see something unsafe. Sometimes, though, there are barriers to reporting safety issues in person. Tip lines are one common approach that schools use to promote school and student safety and well-being. Tip lines are designed to provide students or other members of the public with a safe and confidential way to report a threat to a student or school safety.
To that end, we have created an Electronic Safety Tip Line available on the district website. The e-Tip Line allows students, parents, or community members to report weapons, threats of violence, bullying, sexual harassment, threat of suicide, drugs, and any other activity that could potentially endanger students, staff, and property.
We are developing a communication plan to roll this out to students in upper elementary, middle school, and high school. The e-Tip Line is available on the district website from the “Families” menu and “Quicklinks” and can also be found on the district bullying and safety webpages. If a student wishes to file a bullying report, that Fillable Bullying Report Form is also available on the website.
