Winter Sport
With the Winter Sports season in full swing, I feel it’s timely to emphasise a few points from my Winter Sports blurb back in Week 1 of this term:
Key points:
To all participants, I encourage you to ‘Strive to Succeed’ and be the best that you can be ‘on and off’ the field/court. Respect and support of the opposition is vital, because without an opposition you don’t have anyone to play against.
Please remember that Coaches, Managers and Umpires are giving up their valuable time to ensure you get to play the game you love. A simple thank you to these amazing people goes a long way.
Remember it is vitally important to communicate with your Coach/Manager if you cannot make a practice or the game on Saturday. Remember if you are late to games and/or not attending training and have not communicated this with your Coach/ Manager, you are letting your team down and are not being a good team player.
We continue to rely on all parents, spectators and supporters to respect players and the game officials and set the ultimate example to the children. Remember this is your children’s game not yours.
Cycle Safety
I have observed over the last two weeks a handful of students riding to school without helmets/ and/ or having their helmets on their handlebars and not wearing them. A reminder to all parents and caregivers that students cycling to school are required to wear helmets to and from Stanley Avenue School. Helmets are then to be taken off once students are inside the school grounds. For students safety it is really important to ensure helmets fit correctly and are in suitable condition. Thank you for your support and cooperation with this matter.
