From the Abernethy Office

I can't believe I am going to say this, and trust me, I don't want to, but this is our last week of school for the 2023-24 school year.

What an amazing and memorable school year this has been! Before things get too busy and we all get wrapped up in all the end of school year activities, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for this school year! We had some bumps along the way, but we stayed true to Abernethy and I feel that our community has come out stronger than ever. I have enjoyed every minute of this school year! All the time I have been able to spend with your students, the staff and our community is what makes me love my job and want to show up each and every day! I told the students at our assembly last Friday that there is no saying goodbye on our last day of school, only "see you later". If you are in 5th grade and moving on to middle school, you will always be part of our Abernethy family and we know you will come back and visit and that our paths will cross again one day. The same goes for if you are moving and will not be at Abernethy next year.

Student yearbooks are in and will be distributed tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11th. If you have not purchased your yearbook, here is the link to do so.

• June 11th - 1st Grade Field Trip - 10:00am - 1:30pm
• June 12th - Field Day
• June 13th - 5th Grade Promotion
• June 14th - Last Day Of School
• 5th Grade Clap Out - 2:45pm around the covered play area

Please join us in clapping out our 5th graders! Families will be able to clap put the 5th grade students as they take their final lap around Abernethy as a 5th grade student! Please see the image above for the clap out path and where families can stand.

9:00 - Hartmann Class Promotion

• 9:45 - Parents to see their students' "Hall of Fame" and exit the auditorium for the next class.

• 10:45 - Parents to see their students' "Hall of Fame" and exit the auditorium for the next class.

11:00 - Hutch Class Promotion

• 11:45 - Parents to see their students' "Hall of Fame" projects and help put chairs away

11:50 - 5th grade lunch (tents, pizza, ice cream, kickball, bead-making)
1:00pm - Bring kids back inside
