Dear Parents/Carers,
This week our Year 5 pupils have really enjoyed having their bikeability training. Bikeability is a cycle training programme that teaches children practical skills and gives them the understanding and expertise they need to ride their bikes on the road. It is based on the government approved National Standards for cycle training and equips children with vital life skills, not only to be safe on the roads but also to gain independence, social skills and a sense of wellbeing. All pupils received a badge and certificate for taking part.
On Wednesday, our Year 1 pupils visited Willow Park Care Home. They had a wonderful time talking with the residents. The residents were so happy to see the children and spend time with them. Key Stage One have recently been learning about the Swinging Sixties and the pupils had the opportunity to ask the residents what this time was like. What a lovely experience.
A few Memorable Moments
On Thursday, I had the privilege of teaching History in Year 3. We focused on facts about Tutankhamun and how he impacted on society. The children were extremely knowledgeable and eager to learn. They presented their work to the highest of standards and were an absolute pleasure to teach.
This week, Year 6 have been busy deepening their Maths knowledge and understanding of co-ordinates by solving challenges. Emily and Jake came to show me their learning and were able to demonstrate how they worked in collaboration with their groups to solve the problem. Excellent learning Year 6 pupils!

Next week, the Year 6 pupils will sit their Sats exams. Staff have worked relentlessly to ensure that the pupils are prepared for the exams and feel comfortable and at ease with the process. We have many exciting things planned in for the pupils in the weeks to come. I would like to wish all our Year 6 pupils good luck for next week!
