Regency Place Elementary School - August 10, 2024
Dear Regency Place Families,
I hope this message finds you well as we prepare for the start of an exciting new school year! It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Popsicles on the Playground event and Meet the Teacher night. We are thrilled to welcome all of our students back on Monday, August 12th, and wanted to share some important information to ensure a smooth and successful first day.
Teachers Have Been Busy Preparing Our incredible teachers have been hard at work all week, setting up their classrooms and planning engaging lessons for your children. They are eager to welcome students into their classrooms and begin the journey of learning and growth.
Perfect Attendance Incentive As a special incentive, all students with perfect attendance—including no tardies—for the first nine weeks will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch with me, your new principal. We look forward to celebrating those students who make punctuality a priority!
Boohoo Breakfast for PK and Kindergarten Parents To help our youngest students (and their parents) ease into the first day, we will host a Boohoo Breakfast at 7:30 AM in the Family Service Center for PreK and Kindergarten parents. Please note that only two parents or guardians will be permitted to accompany PreK and Kindergarten students into the building on the first day.
Important First Day Procedures
- Entrance Location: PreK and Kindergarten parents and students will enter through the MacArthur entrance. For our 1st-5th grade parents, we ask that you say your goodbyes outside the building at the MacArthur entrance, as students will enter independently.
- ID Requirement: Everyone entering the building must show a valid ID and receive a Raptor badge. If you do not have an ID, you will not be able to enter the building. For those who completed the Pre-Raptor Google Form, your badges have been printed and will be distributed at the MacArthur entrance.
Daily Schedule
- School Day: 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM
- Breakfast: 7:15 AM – 7:50 AM (Please do not drop off students before 7:15 AM)
- Tardy Bell: Students are tardy if they are not in the building by 8:00 AM. If they arrive after 8:00 AM, a parent must accompany them to the front office at the Broadway entrance to sign them in and walk them to class.
- Attendance: 9:30 AM
- Dismissal: 3:15 PM
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
- Morning Drop-Off: Parents must remain in their vehicles and drop off students in the drop-off lane at the MacArthur View entrance. Please pull all the way down to the first spot. Do NOT stop by the front door, as this causes traffic to back up quickly.
- Afternoon Pick-Up: Parents must remain in their vehicles and use the pick-up lane at the MacArthur View entrance. Cars must have the car rider tag visible. If you forget your card, you will need to go to the front office with your picture ID to get a new one—no exceptions will be made, even if our staff knows you. These procedures are in place for the safety of our students, and we appreciate your patience, cooperation and understanding.
Reminders
- Do NOT drop students off in the parking lots.
- Parents may not congregate outside the school building.
Stay Connected We would love it if you followed our Facebook page and encouraged others to do the same! It’s a great way to stay up-to-date with school events, announcements, and celebrations throughout the year.
We are looking forward to an amazing school year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to ensure the best possible environment for our students.
See you bright and early on Monday!
Warm regards,
Lesley Garza
Principal
