Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Students,
It was wonderful to see so may of you at our annual IB Showcase. We are so proud of our students and the projects they have completed this year. We hope you enjoyed visiting the classrooms and listening to our band, chorus and orchestra play throughout the halls!
As we approach Spring Break, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication this school year. This break is a well-deserved opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. We hope you enjoy the time off, whether you're traveling, resting, or simply enjoying some quality family time.
Please remember that school will resume on Monday, April 14th. Wishing you all a wonderful and restful Spring Break!
Principal Thomas Garrett

Counselor's Corner: Testing Tips
As we approach the Georgia Milestones testing window, it’s important to help students feel prepared and confident. Here are some helpful tips to share with your students:
1. Get Plenty of Rest: Encourage students to get a good night’s sleep before each test day. Rest helps them focus and perform their best.
2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast: A nutritious breakfast can fuel students’ brains and provide the energy they need to stay alert during the test.
3. Stay Calm and Focused: Remind students to take deep breaths if they feel nervous. Encourage them to stay focused on one question at a time and not rush through the test.
4. Read Carefully: Encourage students to read all instructions and questions thoroughly. They should pay attention to any keywords that can help them answer questions accurately.
5. Pace Yourself: Remind students to manage their time wisely. If they don’t know an answer right away, they should skip it and come back to it later.

Write Score Results Available in Class Link
Students recently took the Write Score assessments. The responses and essays are then hand-scored by professional evaluators. You can view your student's score in their Class Link Account. Click the "WriteScore App" and then click "View Past Assessment Results". When the page opens, click "View PDF". Scores are as follows:
1-3 = Below Average
4-5 = Average
6-7 = Above Average
Please contact your student's ELA teacher if you have questions or wish to discuss the results.
Building Parent Capacity
Children can’t learn if they aren’t present in school, so attendance is a must. We can influence attendance and poor attendance can be prevented. Parents — especially in the earlier years — are best positioned to ensure children attend school and to build the expectation around attendance.
