EGG HUNT AT SCHOOL
Friday was a wonderful surprise! Cummins graciously treated us with an Easter egg hunt! They had planned on surprising us the day before Spring Break, but as you know, we had a snow day. We are thankful for Cummins and all the wonderful things they do for our school -- they certainly made lots of smiles Friday!
ROBINSON PLACES AT STATE INDOOR MEET
A big congrats to Ellie Robinson! The Wisconsin State Indoor Track & Field Championship was held on Saturday at UW-Whitewater. Ellie was the lone Dodge-Point medalist, finishing 4th in the 1600, with runners in her event from schools of all sizes. Kudos also to our others competing: Payton Christopher (MP), Kit Finley (MP), Jerrie Jo Johnson (MP), Alex LaMere (DV), Annie Robinson (MP), Regan Schuette (MP), Olivia Wilson (MP). In order to be invited to the event, athletes had to have a qualifying mark or time in their event to get in.

After studying about inventions in technology, 2nd graders created models of an invention of their choice and wrote a thank you card to the inventor explaining how their invention made the world better!
DUNN NAMED TO ALL-STATE BAND
A big congratulations to Josie Dunn (Band) who auditioned and was accepted to the prestigious Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) High School State Honors Project! She will participate in an intensive summer camp in June and perform in Madison during late October as part of the Wisconsin State Music Conference. Her selection identifies her as one of Wisconsin’s finest high school musicians. This is the fourth year Josie has been part of the WSMA State Honors Project!
EGG-CITEMENT
Egg-citement is building at the elementary! Eggs have been moved to the incubator; we are excited for the journey as we hatch chicks!

BUDDING SCIENTISTS
1st graders have turned into quite the little scientists! For the last several weeks, they have been working on a project exploring force and motion. They built sail cars and tested them out to see if they go farther on carpet or a smooth floor, and with or without a sail.
APRIL FOOLS
The kids weren’t too happy with their brown Es (instead of actual brownies) for April Fools' Day!
MPHS SPRING PLAY
Our MPHS Drama Department is getting excited to present their spring play, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" coming up April 12-14!
The cast and crew of the spring play are thrilled to announce that tickets for our upcoming presentation of just got a whole lot more accessible!
Thanks to a generous contribution from The Commerce Street Brewery & Hotel, we are able to slash ticket prices for adults and extend a special offer for students. Adult tickets are now $6 only! Students will be absolutely FREE! Join us April 12th and 13th at 7 pm, or April 14th at 2 pm, at the Mineral Point Opera House. Tickets are still required, and they can be ordered from mineralpointoperahouse.org or purchased at the box office.
If you have already purchased tickets, you will be reimbursed to reflect the updated price.
Thank you, Commerce Street Brewery & Hotel, for your support of the performing arts and for making this special event possible. Let's make this spring play season one to remember.
We will see you at the Opera House!

APRIL 26 CALENDAR UPDATE
Unfortunately, the Snow Day prior to Spring Break on Friday, March 22 has caused us to be short on our required number of instructional minutes needed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for our middle/high school (elementary students need less instructional minutes and are ok at this time). Please see below for the latest regarding both buildings.
ELEMENTARY
Friday, April 26 will still be a day off for students EC-5th grade. Teachers will report for a Work Day.
MIDDLE/HIGH
Friday, April 26 will now be a Virtual Day of classes for 6-12th grade students. Teachers will be on site. April 26 was a previously scheduled student day off for a Teacher Work Day.
BOTH BUILDINGS
If we need any additional full days off, we will need to conduct virtual learning (for all grades) instead of having a traditional Snow Day. We still have a couple hours to spare, should we need a late start or early release.
During a Virtual Learning Day, you would still receive a Skylert notification. Students do not report to school and Pointer Kids Club would be canceled. Expectations for student learning will vary by grade level and classroom and will be communicated by teachers.
These updates will allow us to keep June 4 as our last day of school.
We hope winter is done with us soon! Thank you for your flexibility and understanding with these changes.
JUNIOR PROM
The Mineral Point High School Junior Class is proud to present Prom 2024 Saturday, May 4! This year's theme is "The Golden Hour." Doors will open at 8 pm with Grand March at 8:30 pm (cost is $2 for spectators). Prom ends at 12 am and Post Prom is from 12:30-2:30 am for all 9-12th grade students. Make plans to attend and see our Juniors in their finest attire!

Results are in from the School Board election and have been officially canvassed Friday morning. Incumbents Aaron Dunn, Justin Skelding, and Rachael Bergstrom have been elected to new three-year terms.
