Koennecke Elementary
From Mrs. Mahaffey
We were so happy to have our Koennecke families join us at our Fall Carnival last week. We enjoyed seeing your smiling faces! All of the proceeds go right back to our students. A special shoutout goes to DJ Real Deal and our very own Koennecke parents for bringing the music and fun to our carnival.

Don't forget:
1. Please label all of your child's belongings including backpacks, water bottles, and jackets. Remind your child to check the lost and found! Our collection is already growing. Each month we will begin to clean out the lost and found for things that are not spoken for!
2. Water bottles are encouraged to be brought daily. We ask that you send one with a spill proof lid to minimize any messes.
3. Here is our school calendar for your reference
4. We will be cleaning out our lost and found area at the end of the month. Please have your child look through what they may be missing.
SHS Play
Our students will enjoy the SHS play and see The Wizard of Oz this week. Kinder-2nd will attend on Wednesday from 9-11. 3rd-5th will attend on Thursday from 9-11. This is a student only field trip since multiple campuses across the district will also be attending. We will be adjusting lunches this day, so we discourage parents from joining us on our field trip play days this week. You can catch the play with your family! Check the flyer for more information.
Birthdays
If you send cupcakes/treats for your child's birthday, this is an in class celebration. We would like to remind you that we keep this quick as to not impact the instructional learning time, so we ask that you understand no visitors please. You are always welcome to join your child for lunch on their special day. Check with your child's teacher for best time to deliver.

Thank You
Thank you so much for those that have sent in candy donations for our Koennecke kids! We love to celebrate Koennecke Champions for academics, attendance, and positive behaviors. If you would like to help make our celebrations even SWEETER, please donate a bag of candy. You can send with your child or drop off at the office. Some ideas: jolly ranchers, smarties, dum dum lollipops, anything pre-packaged! We appreciate your help and donations.
Attendance
Let’s embark on an attendance adventure! Did you know that every school day is like a new chapter in your child’s learning journey? Each day they attend brings exciting discoveries, new friendships, and countless opportunities to shine!
Help us keep our adventure on track by ensuring your child comes to school regularly. If they need to miss a day, just send us a quick note to let us know.
Together, let’s make every day count!
English & Spanish phrases
In morning assembly we are enjoying learning and practicing helpful phrases in English and Spanish!
So far we have learned:
Hello, my name is ________. Hola, mi nombre es.
Hello, good morning? Hola, buenos dias?
Do you need help? Necessita ayuda?
Thank you! Gracias.
May I use the restroom? Puedo ir al baño?
Please be quiet! Silencio por favor!
Sit down, please! Siéntense por favor.
Criss cross applesauce. Piernas cruzadas, manos en su regazo.
This week we are learning the phrases:
Hands to yourself! Manos a ti mismo!
Character Strong Theme = RESPONSIBILITY
Students are learning all about RESPONSIBILITY during Character Strong. Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Positive and responsible actions can help people and irresponsible actions can hurt others. Take time this month to discuss with your child on responsibilities they might have at home and the impact of them helping out around the house and being responsible at school.
Cafeteria Menu
Check the website for updated cafeteria menus
Dismissal Reminders
There will continue to be a physical barrier between the two campus on Joe Carrillo Blvd during Koennecke’s dismissal. This barrier will be removed immediately following dismissal, which is at approximately 3:45.
Please pay close attention to the exit pathways for your child’s pickup line, we do not want exit pathways to cross.
Parents picking up at Koennecke and then driving to Barnes will need to go around to FM466 to enter the Barnes Car line.
As always, please be mindful not to block driveways or intersections while in line.
Veterans Day
We are looking for a Koennecke family member who is a Veteran and would like to be a guest speaker at our Veterans Day Assembly on November 11 around 2:30 p.m. If you are interested, please e-mail Mr. Garcia at gigarcia@seguin.k12.tx.us
