Counseling Services at Acacia
Hello Acacia Families,
Our school counselor, Mr. Navarro, would like to hear from parents on what can be improved on in school counseling services. Please feel free to fill out the following questionnaire to note what can be improved on for this school year. We appreciate your input!
Safety
Mobile Devices
At the July 30, 2024 board meeting, the Fullerton School District (FSD) Board of Trustees approved Board Policy 5131.8, which helps establish district-wide rules around the use of mobile devices by students when they are at school. This new policy will be in effect at all FSD school campuses beginning this 2024-25 school year. Accordingly, we wanted to take a moment to provide you with the key components of this new student mobile device use policy before we get our new school year underway.
Mobile communication devices include:
Smartphones
Smart watches
Smart glasses
Gaming devices
Wired or wireless headphones
Other mobile communication devices
At Acacia, all mobile communication devices are to be turned off and put away while students are at school during school hours. School hours include anytime a student is on a school campus, including before and after the bell rings.
If a student uses a mobile communication device in an unauthorized manner, the student will be subject to disciplinary consequences, and the student’s mobile communication device may be confiscated by a FSD employee.
Please refer to the letter you received on Friday, August 9 for more details, and see our School Handbook for more information regarding school wide expectations at Acacia. Our School Handbook can be found on our website at: https://www.fullertonsd.org/Acacia/school-handbook
Parents are able to control school devices, iPads, at home by following the directions on your websites under parents, and "control your student's ipad at home"
Parking Lot
Safety is our number one priority at Acacia. Please have your backpacks ready and say your goodbyes at home, so that you do not have to get out of your car during our busy drop off time. We are also asking all of our parents and families to please be mindful of all traffic laws around Acacia, and just as a reminder, we do not load or unload on Acacia. Thank you for helping keep all our Pandas safe.
Speech and Debate Program
Speech and Debate is back! We are excited to kick off our Speech and Debate program for our current 4th-6th grade students, and this year's coach is Mrs. Regitz! If you are interested in joining the Speech and Debate team this year, please attend our virtual Parent Information Session on Monday, August 26, from 5:30-6:30 PM. This meeting will be recorded for those who are unable to attend, and Spanish/Korean translation will be available.
