TOMORROW!
Construction Project Update
Things are really coming together with our ongoing construction projects. Our team was able to take a walking tour of the site this week and it's amazing to see the design come to life. Here is a list of updates that were shared at the Board Meeting on Monday night.
High School Secure Entrance:
Roof process is done.
Windows will be installed in the weeks ahead, soon to be fully watertight.
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing are wrapping up in the space, and interior framing and drywall are in full swing.
On schedule for turnover to our high school team by late October.
Athletic Spaces:
Tennis courts are done and being used by the team. First home match happened tonight. Courts are open to the community, but please pardon our dust as we continue to landscape around the courts. FYI- the courts are open during the school day for community use, but if students from physical education classes come out to use the space, the school does take priority.
The track is resurfaced, lined, and ready for use!
New Soccer game field, soccer practice field, and football practice fields are seeded with regular watering.
Lights are up and dugouts are getting put into place.
Middle School Addition:
Crews are working from North to South with progress being made with the concrete slab on grade, deck pours, and continued steel erection.
MS gym has 43 panels installed, with the last one left open to access for working crews
Check out the newsletter below with pictures and additional updates from CD Smith.
School Safety
The School District of Howards Grove is prepared and has a plan for any emergency circumstances that may occur at a school. In the event there would be an emergency situation or an incident that occurred during the school day, we would implement an evacuation. This process, called reunification, involves families being brought together with their student(s) as quickly as possible. We would use this process in the event of inclement weather, power outage, hazmat, or if a crisis occurs at the school. Students are moved off-site when school officials determine students and staff should not re-enter the building until it is rendered safe. Off-site locations that may be used as a reunification site include the following: Howards Grove School District Buildings, Harms Bus, and Lakeland University. School officials will choose the best reunification site at the time of the incident depending on the circumstances of the emergency. Our main priority in a reunification is student safety and accountability.
Below are guidelines that would need to be followed in the event of reunification:
A reunification process protects the safety of all students and staff. If a parent/guardian is notified that a reunification is needed, you must bring your identification to the relocation site. Students are released only to authorized individuals and a sign-out procedure is followed. There are no exceptions to this rule. The process will take some time, please be patient. Parents will then be provided with information on the relocation site. Please do not come to the school as we will need to provide access to emergency personnel during this time.
Understand that emergency pickup procedures are different from routine pickup procedures. We appreciate your cooperation through this process, our first priority is student and staff safety. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Angie Houston, District Safety Coordinator, for further information. (920) 565-4452 or ahouston@hgsd.k12.wi.us.
Sincerely,
Your District Leadership Team

Summer School 2025
School just started, but people are already wondering...with all the construction going on at Northview this coming summer, will there be a Summer School 2025? The simple answer is YES! We will have summer school in 2025. Our planning team is meeting in the month ahead to get these dates organized to ensure everyone has the dates for summer school well in advance. Due to the early start this school year, students last day of school is May 21st, which puts a bit of a twist on our usual summer school dates. Please stay tuned!
