MAXIMIZING LEARNING TIME
As we work together to finish the school year strong, we are asking for your support in encouraging students to make the most of their passing time between classes. This includes using the restroom, filling water bottles, and taking care of other personal needs before class begins.
We’ve noticed a large increase in students requesting to leave during instructional time, which can be disruptive and take away from valuable learning. Please take a moment to speak with your child about the importance of staying in class and using passing time wisely.
Thank you for partnering with us to support a focused and successful end to the school year!
MRS. WEKERLE'S CLASS WINS TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CARDS FOR THE MOST CLOTHES DONATED

THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY FUNDRAISER IN MAY
During the month of May, West Middle School will be holding a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS's work is focused in three areas: research toward treatments and cures, patient education, and support and advocacy for families fighting these diseases. Our last LLS fundraiser a couple years ago generated over $7,000, this year we hope to reach $10,000. Primetime classrooms will compete to see which can raise the most money, with fame, recognition, and a pizza lunch for the winning classroom. Links and more information on how to donate coming to students on Monday.

DISTRICT NEWS
88.1 THE PARK AUCTION
Quick Pass Car Wash will present the 88.1 the Park Auction on Saturday May 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Every half-hour you can bid on great items donated by local businesses including restaurant gift cards, sports memorabilia, golf outings and much more. Most importantly, all of the proceeds will benefit 88.1 the Park, our student radio program. This year's auction is especially important as the station is raising funds to renovate their studios.
Local businesses and residents still have time to support the student radio station by donating items. Businesses that donate can benefit from the exposure they will receive on 88.1 The Park. Most importantly, they will be helping a program that has impacted the lives of students and served the Plymouth-Canton community for 53 years. You can get more information by contacting Station Manager Bill Keith at 734-416-7732 or by email at billkeith@pccsk12.com.

SJ5K RUN/WALK IS ON SUNDAY, MAY 4TH
The time has come to kick off the Super Jess 5K (SJ5K) to raise money for Plymouth-Canton community families who are going through a medical crisis. This year’s SJ5K run/walk will start at the Varsity Football Stadium at 8 am on Sunday, May 4.
This race was started in 2011, when then-Canton sophomore Jesse Lindlbauer (known as Super Jess) suffered a near-fatal brain injury. Despite no previous symptoms, Jesse fought brain trauma, meningitis, and other complications brought on by what was believed to be a mild sinus infection.
The Plymouth-Canton community came together to raise funds for Jesse, and the first-ever SJ5K was created. Through the event, enough funds were raised to purchase items that supported Jesse’s adapted life.
Ever since, the race has continued in Jesse’s name and continued to support local families in crisis. Help from the P-CCS community has changed the lives of dozens of families and raised more than a million dollars in total.
