Reminders and Updates from Dr. Bonneau
It has been a great first week!
Parent drop off and pick up: If you drop your student off or pick them up, please drive to the front of the building at the horse shoe. The back parking lot is for faculty and student parking. PLEASE do not drop off or pick up across the street at one of the businesses.
Meet the Teacher for Ben Barber: Thursday, September 12th from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Student ID Cards: Beginning Monday, students will be required to have their Legacy ID on before entering the building. For students that do not have their ID with them, a new one will be made at the Reception area at the front of the school. If the students is entering through the back, they will have to walk around to the front to enter where we have an ID machine set up. The replacement fee is $5.00 per ID ($6.00 if you need a lanyard too).
Dress Code: We have been lenient with the dress code the first three days. Dress code will be enforced beginning Monday morning.
Parking Stickers: MISD Police will be issuing parking passes in the cafeteria during lunches for the next 2 weeks. They will have the paper application here, but the student must have their driver's license, current insurance, and $30 cash or check.
Chromebooks: If your student needs a Chromebook for this school year, the parent or student needs to enter a ticket to request a Chromebook. Go to www.mansfieldisd.org/departments/technology/
then select Enter a Student Help Ticket and Choose Request Student District Issued Device
When a request for a chrome book is entered it will auto assign to the Technology Invoice Clerk. This will start the process.Attendance Office: If you need to send a doctor's note or let us know why your student is absent, you may email the attendance clerks at ChrystalMiller@misdmail.org and JanetManning@misdmail.org The new MISD exemption guidelines will allow doctor's notes to not count toward the absence limit for exemptions purposes, but the document must be turned in WITHIN THREE DAYS OF RETURNING TO CAMPUS. These absence reasons will not be changed in December to allow students exemptions.
Verification of Enrollment (VOE): If your student needs a VOE form for a driver’s license or for Driver’s Ed, they can go by the Attendance Office located by the front desk and scan the QR code. It takes two day s to process the VOE. Approval for this form will depend on the previous semester’s attendance and grades. If a student has over 4 absences in any class or did not pass a class for the semester, the VOE will be denied and the student will need to talk to their assistant principal to make up their absences in Saturday School or wait until the new grades at the end of the semester.
College Visits (Juniors and Seniors): College days may be taken throughout the school year. Parents must make a written request for approval of the college visit to your student’s assistant principal three (3) days prior to a trip. Upon their return, students must provide official documentation on the college letterhead of the visit and give it to their assistant principal. Students will be allowed two (2) college days per school year that will not affect the exemption or attendance policy. College visits are limited to juniors and seniors. College visit forms can be picked up outside of the Attendance Office or at any Assistant Principal's office.

MISD Parent Hub for Social Emotional Learning
Social and Emotional Learning in MISD is Relational Practices. Relational Practices assist in the ability to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Along with our mission to support students, empower teachers, and collaborate with administrators, we want to partner with parents to meet the needs of your children at home. The purpose of this site is to provide resources and support as you navigate through the journey of raising kids in the 2020s. Click here to access the MISD Parent Hub for Social Emotional Learning.
As part of Vision 2030, MISD is helping students become life, college and career ready through our student scorecards. Ask your student to log into Edugence and see what they have been working on!
