Cranberry Isles School
School Year 2020-2021
Please read this newsletter with your child
First day of School: September 8, 2020
I am excited to announce that we have thoroughly reviewed the building safety standards and we have met all requirements to reopen schools in person. I have certified the re-opening plan and now have the green light to open our school buildings next week.
For the first week of school we will run a hybrid schedule. Half days in person 8:30-11:15 and students will be sent home with some "homework" to complete in the afternoons. This will allow students (and families, and teachers!) to adjust to new procedures and protocols. It will also give us some additional time to make any adjustments to our buildings and spaces as needed.
Please review the information in this newsletter with your student so they have a preview of some things that are to come. We will also be filming video tours of the classroom spaces this weekend.
More information will follow tomorrow about a modified first day ceremony.
Thank you so much for your support during this time. We are so very excited to see everyone next week!
Sincerely,
Hayley Fenton, Principal

Daily Symptom Screening
The 3 Ws
Wash your hands
Wear your mask
Watch your distance
Drop Off
- Students may walk, ride bikes or be dropped off at school
- Students should bring their own mask. If they do not have a mask, one will be provided to them.
Due to staffing/playground restriction we ask that students arrive as close to school start time as possible.
When students arrive at school they will take their coat/backpack to their assigned hook or cubby. Be aware of physical distancing and give others space. Please do not congregate in the cubby area.
After students hang up their belongings, they will go to their assigned learning space and take out something to work on until morning meeting begins.
Washing Hands
- Upon arriving at school
- Before and after recess
- Before and after eating
- After touching the outside of their mask
During Class
Students will have individual sets of materials at their desk
Students will be given individual stretch breaks and mask breaks on a schedule (and as needed)
Students will be reminded to maintain physical distance when getting up to use the bathroom or exit the room
Students will have flexible seating options (cushions, lap desks so they can sit on the floor, etc.) so they are not at their desk all day.
We will spend as much time as we can outside during the fall
