FIRST DAY SHOE FUND - SPRING 2025
Parchment Central Elementary School
First Day Shoe Fund provides new athletic shoes to students at Kalamazoo County Public elementary schools at no cost. In spring 2025, they will be piloting their third spring distribution.
Any caregiver who needs shoes for their elementary aged student in one of these schools can order online at www.firstdayshoefund.org/order or by scanning the QR code. Online ordering opens on January 30th and will close at 6:00 pm February 18th.
When you order online, you will get an email confirmation. Please keep this email, as it acts as a receipt for your order. If ordering online is not possible, please contact our school Social Worker, Adam Prister at 616-606-3075, for a paper order form. Online orders are preferred, if possible, as it makes it quicker for everyone! Shoes will be fitted March 13th at the school buildings.
Worry Boxes
Worry boxes are being made in Life Skills Classes on 2/13 & 2/14. Please keep saving those empty tissue boxes. We would also appreciate any other supplies that you are are willing to donate for decorating these boxes with. Thank you! Mrs. R 💗

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences are February 25th and 26th. Due to our limited conference time slots, each student is allotted only one conference slot. This means that if there are multiple households, you will need to coordinate before you sign up for that one slot together. Be on the lookout for the link to sign up in the next couple weeks.
Attendance
We have been working hard on our attendance and timelieness to school this year. We talk to the kids about it in the classroom, make fun math problems about how many students are missing that day, have a chart in the hallway that shows each classroom's progress, and have fun days for the classrooms who have the best attendance or most improved attendance that month. We know it is the time of year when there are a lot of sicknesses and we thank you for not sending your student to school while they are sick. Keep talking to your students about the importance of school and how showing up on time matters.

Hungry Howie's
Our January winner for Hungry Howie's is Ms. Kiser's class. Congratulations, you have earned a delicious pizza party! Unfortunately, we did not have enough orders for us to get 10% of their sales for the day, so we did not earn any money from that fundraiser this month. This was likely due to the terrible weather and snow day that we had and that is understandable. Just as a reminder, we have to have 10% of our families order (30 families) and that is how we earn 10% of their sales from the day. This is one reason you have to give them your teacher's name, then they know it is one of our families and will count toward our 10% of families ordering.
Our next Hungry Howie's fundraiser day is Monday, February 17th. Let's rock this one out!!
