Hello Stellar Families !!
The 2nd nine weeks have BEGUN! Please ensure your student leader is present and on-time to school. Teachers provide bell-to-bell instruction to support the success of our students. Please avoid absences and tardies if possible and within your control. Targeted instruction is underway- with specifically designed centers, small groups, and tutoring.
We look forward to continuing to partner with you in the growth of your child and we are EXCITED to see you and your family this Thursday as we host our first Trunk or Treat. We need your help to make it a success-
1. Participate in our Battle of the Classes Candy Competition (see details below)
2. Plan to attend Trunk or Treat Thursday wearing your costumes and ready for FAMILY FUN!
3. Sign your car up to decorate and pass out candy (details below)
4. Volunteer to help us execute this family friendly community event (details below)
Lastly, RED RIBBON WEEK begins this week - See daily activities below
😉 FRIENDLY REMINDERS
- Halloween costumes are NOT to be worn at school
- Students will have an opportunity to wear costumes at our Trunk/Treat 10/24 and during literacy month in January for book character parade
- Classroom birthday parties ARE NOT permitted
- Parents may ONLY bring store bought cupcakes and store bought juice packages (ex: Kool-Aid Jammers, CapriSuns) during student lunch period
- Please partner with your students teacher to coordinate and ask about allergies
- No balloons or student deliveries

RED RIBBON WEEK
DRUG AWARENESS AND PREVENTION CAMPAIGN
Red Ribbon Week is a national drug awareness and prevention program observed every October
Students will have an opportunity to enjoy fun dress up days while raising awareness and education about prevention
OCTOBER- WEAR PINK
WEAR PINK EVERY TUESDAY IN OCTOBER
EVERY Tuesday in the Month of October student leaders may wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness

5000 Role Models of Excellence Interest Meeting
If you have a male student leader at Biscayne in grades 3rd-5th grade please come out to learn more about this school club
5000 Role Models is a male mentoring program. Program is designed to teach young boys about responsibility, respect, and attaining future goals.

⭐🌟 STELLAR HIGHLIGHTS
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH was celebrated 9/15-10/15
- 10/15 we ended with a special assembly led by 5th grade student Juliette M. with performances by select classes and a gallery walk.
- This month students learned about Hispanic culture- learning new words, places, foods, clothing, and culture thru classroom projects.
