Jump Rope For Heart - February 18-21
NES is pumped to Jump! This February we kick off Jump Rope for Heart again. This event teaches our students the importance of giving back and encourages them to learn the EASY healthy habits, so they understand the importance of staying active, eating well and taking care of their heart and brain health.
The funds our school raises will help support important heart and brain research funded by Heart & Stroke. Let's join together as a school community and show how hard we can work! Our Event Date is scheduled for February 18th - 21st during Phys. Ed. Donations can be made online at https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/81959 and there will be prizes along the way for top fundraisers and participants, as well incentive gifts based on your fundraising efforts.

2025-26 Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 school year opened in January. To be eligible, children must be five years of age on or before December 31, 2025.
Registration is online at www.hsd.ca. Anyone who does not have access to the Internet should visit the school office.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children in January. This assists us in planning and preparation. Registering before March 1, 2025 will ensure there is sufficient time for school appointments and provide an opportunity to participate in orientation activities.

Important Information
- If your child will be absent from school you can excuse them through the Parent Portal instead of calling the school office. Parent Portal can be accessed at any time for your convenience.
- If a student arrives late to school, please have them come in through the front doors to check-in at the office before they go to their classroom
- All non bus students will be dismissed at 3:35 each day. Please make sure to have a "meeting spot" arranged for your child to meet you if they are being picked up
- If there are End of day changes the parent/guardian needs to notify the office and classroom teacher by 3:00 p.m. the same day. If a friend or relative will be regularly picking up your student, please have them added to the parent/guardian approved pick up list at the office

PARENT PORTAL/STUDENT INFORMATION
The HSD Parent Portal is a communication tool designed to enhance and increase parent/guardian involvement in the education of their children by providing secure online access to their child's student information. With a single username and password, you can access data for each of your children attending an HSD school. The Access IDs along with setup instructions have been sent via email to all eligible parents/guardians of new students. If you are new to NES and did not receive the specified email, please contact the school office at 204-388-4861.
Please take a few minutes to review the student information and contact information for your child. It is important that the school has current address and contact information for your child in case it is necessary to reach someone during the school day. Changes can be made through the parent portal.
