PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Fernwood Families!
Our school district will be closed on Monday, January 20th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Day. School will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Additionally, Fernwood's annual parent conferences are scheduled for the week of January 27th. The conference times for each date is listed below. Also, this serves as a reminder that we will follow a half day schedule on these dates and the dismissal times for Fernwood will be 12:45. Conferences are by appointment only and each teacher's conference appointment link can be found by clicking HERE. Each appointment will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis, and will last 15 minutes.
Parent/Teacher Conferences for Grades 6-8 are as follows:
- Monday, January 27, 2025: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Tuesday, January 28, 2025: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Wednesday, January 29, 2025: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Thursday, January 30, 2025: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Modeling and Balancing Chemical Reactions
Student's in Mrs. Rodio's science class analyzed and interpreted data on the properties of substances before and after the substances interacted to determine if a chemical reaction has occurred.
CLIMATE, CULTURE & #EHTPride
Poker Face
Mrs. Swift's convocation students had a great time this past week playing card games with one another. They especially loved the game "Poker Face".
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Visit
The AC Prosecutor's office visited FMS this week. Their presentation informed students on some of the dangers of social media and online interactions, while also giving them the tools and knowledge to stay safe. Thank you for this relevant and important assembly!
