Attendance Changes
The district is rolling out a new way to report student absences. You will now be able to put your request directly into IC. For instructions on how to do this, please click here.
There are three ways to report your student's absence:
- Enter your request directly into IC.
- Call the attendance line directly at 608-838-4657 and leave a message. These are sent directly to our email, so we see them in real time.
- Email mhsattendance@mcfsd.org
If you have any questions or concerns regarding reporting absences, please contact Carli Cherek at cherekc@mcfsd.org

Celebrations
Freshman Orientation
Orientation was a huge success. Freshman are all set for a great year!
Staff Development
The students became the teachers. A group of 12 juniors and seniors organized and ran team building activities for the staff.
New Staff Welcome
New teachers got to spend the day with their mentors learning about what to expect as they start at MHS.
School Picture Retakes
The high school will have a retake day on Wednesday, September 27th, from 9:00 am - 2:15 pm in the student learning center. ALL high school students, including seniors, should plan to have their picture taken. These pictures are used to print student IDs. Every student needs an ID.
Senior Release
Senior students can use this link to access the senior release application. New this year, senior parents will have a section in online registration indicating that they either agree or disagree with their child having senior release. If a student completes the application, meets criteria, and has parent approval, their schedules will be adjusted. Senior release expectations are linked here for reference.
Please note, students who have senior release will be expected to leave the building daily and cannot choose to stay some days and leave others. Senior release will replace a study hall and is non credit bearing. Senior release is a privilege and may be revoked if students cannot remain in good standing academically, behaviorally, and attendance-wise. Senior release can be applied for at any time during the school year.
